@Zomz Cheezy It's just a clip wich shows maps, colors and some years, if one judges only by this, it means that he doesnt have education. Romania had a king, Charles the 1st, he allied with russian Tsar, he started investing in infrastructure, building railroads and fortresses, preparing the country for independence long before war, russians also were allowed to build railroads along the Danube. During Russo-Turkish war Romania did participated an spilled blood on bulgarian soil helping russians and bulgarians. There's even one particular incident wich shows that romanian army didnt played a small role in that war, when russian army was sorrounded by turks facingannihilation the russian command sent a fast telegram to romanian military high command to intervene and help them. Later the soviets when they come in Romania they tried to find the telegram and destroy it but they couldnt. :))) And offcourse they "poured" in Romania, it was the first ottoman province on their border, DOOOH.

Cuz of 5 centuries of occupation , slavery , kids being taken away and systematic destruction of cultures . That's why revolts were happening . In 19th century French wanted to convert orthodox into catholic churches while Russia wanted to regain Constantinople and preserve orthodoxy in the Balkans which led to Crimean war that Russia lost , but thanks to them it's (Balkans) still orthodox . I know that Rome (which robbed Jerusalem and Constantinople) and turks are eager to co-op against orthodox , but as we know that orthodox peoples caused genocidal empires (Prussia , Austro-Hungaria , Ottoman etc.) to colapse , that's one huge mistake ...

Moving ships through there while its under Ottoman control would be asking to have your Navy wiped out. It makes strategic sense that Russia would try to take control of the surrounding land of the straits, allowing ships to pass through unhindered. Russia had naval dominance over the Ottomans eventually, but passing through the straights was still very dangerous without controlling them, so Russia attempted to take them but they withdrew.

The uprising in wallachia in 1821 was part of the greek war of independence ; it was organized by the "friendly company" (filike etaireia) and its goal was to kickstart the revolution (being in contact with the revolutionaries in the peloponnese) . Its leader was Alexandros Ypsilantes , a greek national , who in cooperation with the local (greek and non-greek) population and Greek volunteer troops from western Europe , declared independence from the ottomans . They numbered in the tens of thousands , half of them were greeks and everyone fought for a common cause . However , many locals decided to abandon the campaign since the russians refused to take part in the war and the ottomans threatened to retaliate against the civilians if the regiment wasn't disbanded . Adding to that , Vladimireskou was found a traitor and was executed by the "friendly company" (filike etaireia).

The Albanian revolt was led by Dervish Cara, an Albanian Muslim, it was very succesful and could have led to a autonomous Albanian state in the half of the 19th century, but we were betrayed by our fellow Albanians. But yet (Albanian) Catholics nowadays claim that they are the most patriots in the Albanian nation which is totally untrue.

They become Pasha's and Grand viziers in Turkey. Sheikh Al-Albani was a very respected scholar in Syria, Giorgio Basta, an amazing general who fought for the Holy Roman Empire. Redbeard the famous pirate was Albanian. Byeazid the Second, the Ottoman Sultan, was also of Albanian decent, his mother was Albanian (prolly forced to marry Sultan Mehmet). Ataturk had an Albanian father, Muhammed Ali Pasha, the King of Egypt was Albanian, He declared war on the Ottoman empire and did you know he would've taken Constantinople if it wasn't for Great-Brittain. @@anordinaryboi9506 Serbia was a vassal state from 1389-1459, until Ottomans annexed the territory of Serbia (only then Serbia wasn't an independent country). Bayezid gave Serbia to be an independent state, but to fight by their side at the battles that would come ( like Nicopolis in 1396 and Ankara 1402), Lazar's daughter was a wife of Bayezid. When Serbs decided not be their allies anymore, the Ottomans invaded the capital of Smederevo in 1459. In 1835, there are no more Ottoman soldiers in the Serbian lands, and no more Serbs were taken into jannisaries and Serbia forms its own government. Serbian fortresses were still under the control of the Ottomans, until 1867. Serbia was officially an independent state just after the threaty of Berlin in 1878. But, you know, our state day is at February 1835, because we formed a government. In the terms of law, when you have a government you can be declared as an independent country.

But inexplicably the Westerners decided to let the Turks rule the city instead of giving it to the Greeks as they should have been done. People discredit the Ottoman Empire for not winning more wars against the Russians but you have to understand that Ottomans were not only fighting the Russians, they were also fighting all the Balkan states, and Russians. Also, Ottomans were declining during the 17th and 18th century while Russians were gaining more power. Edit: Look at the event table on 13:02

The transition between Congress of San Stefano and the ashaming (for the British, Germans and Austrians) Congress of Berlin, is not explained. There was very obviously a willing to be "nice" with the Turks and undo the Russian-Serbian-Bulgarian-Romanian victory, and it happens that the Russians were (...) enough to accept it. It's a very big lesson of history, and shows how much Turkey owes to the islamophilic western world for still occupying Anatolia.
