Heartbreaking to watch. Carl trying to do what they thought they had to do to save Petes life. But on a happy note - we know they are in a better place and ready to give it another go. Here's hoping the bad times are behind them and they can move on to the magic that is the LIBERTINES! All four of the originals...no substitutes. Only they can create that original sound. I'm thinking they'll be better than ever!!! YEAH!!! Can't WAIT

You know, I'll always be a Libertine, I've got it written on my arm, so I haven't got much choice really. But no, I mean, that's just a reminder."

That's cos Carlos Loves Peter like a brother he always will, no drugs will ever change that. The Libertines will get back together now Peter is proving that he wants to stay clean and finish what him & Carlos started.

'Christian heart' and 'Catholicism'- WTF? Here's a transcription of what Carl *actually* says: "When you're recording an album about things which are so close to your heart, then there is an element of catharsism. I think we kind of sung the lyrics and didn't really...we both knew what they were about but I don't know if we really admitted that at the time."

siigh,,, ahh pete and carl will love each other no matter what forever .. i believe it was better for the friendship to 'put libs on ice' cos they would of ended up hating each other even more, even tho thats bad for us libs fans.. i still believe one day we will get something more from the libertines, and that day will be epic. for now we have to treasure what we did get, and any of their individual stuff till 'the time is right' as carl said in an interview recently......

50! That should have been way higher up! Ah whenever I see Pete or Carl talking about when Pete was really fucked up it really makes me sad - everyone involved ended up getting hurt. Same thing happened in my own family when my sister's drug habit got out of control. Things are good now but there's so much stuff that will never be the same as it was before.

Noel loves the libertenes and was good friends with Carl. He is proud of how heavily oasis influenced them and gave his blessing of taking the torch as the voice of the kids. Yeah he's a bit arrogant about it but if you had such a huge influence on a band as good as the libertines wouldnt you feel pretty shit hot? I would.

Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of the second album. Songs like Can't Stand Me Now, Campaign of Hate, The Haha Wall and on and on are awesome. I love the second album ALMOST as much as the first but I they were way more focused on the first and you just can't top songs like the Good Old Days, Time for Heroes and Death on the Stairs. I definitely agree with you it's not about rocking out it IS about true, honest to self expression above all. Oh and I can't stand Metallica (metal period).

They have the right to be a little arrogant and to be honest they are usually just telling the truth unlike other bands who are constantly all nicey nicey on camera they had a pair of bollocks about them, carl and pete massively looked up to oasis who were a band that defined an era selling over 22 million copies of the album whats the story morning glory let's face it noel gallagher is a genius, that's not to say the libertines aren't amazing because they are but the fact is they aren't oasis.

I know a hell of a lot about music, definetly enough to know that the beatles ar the most overrated bands in history, especially when true masters such as Robert Johnson, Chet Atkins and Chuck Berry nearly go unheard of. Not saying the Beatles were a bad band, there just not as good as everyone says, but I don't expect much from another mindless Beatles fan that thinks Sgt. Pepper was the best album ever and John,Paul,George and Ringo are just Godlike...
