As sad as it was without Pete, Anthony Rossomando was a fantastic guitarist. Had the right "look" too.

He should never have been there looked out of place and was trying to hard, Peters lyrics were what made the libertines. Listen to Babyshambles lyrics compared to the dirty pretty things, without pete there is no libs

@@joefrench1353 agree with trying too hard, I mean his stage presence, maybe it's his thing, but it was too much. But well, it's a spark of both of them, music and lyrics, not just lyrics, I believe they wrote together.

Yes, I think Pete's "situation" robbed them of international exposure and popularity and a longer career in the mainstream but they deserve a second chance to live that together. Hope one of the new songs becomes viral.

I don't think he was allowed to come to the US for that tour (some sort of legal & visa issues?). I was at the taping, they did well considering the aftershow the night before went until around 4:30am (a friend from the UK came for the shows & a bunch of us tagged along) & I think everyone (especially Carl) was hung over & exhausted. I think it was a tough decision to carry on to do those shows & Anthony did a great job stepping in.

@@katrinagrentz5035 maybe he wasn't allowed for legal reasons but they didn't bother with that since they kicked him out of the band before the tour. This is why Carl sings "Did we get it the wrong way 'round to kick you out [of the band] or blame it on the brown [heroin]?" referring to the fact that they kicked out Peter because of his drug abuse. They made sure John took Peter's place on stage (and on backing vocals) I believe out of respect. I think Anthony is doing too much, both his physical presence and musically, I genuinely can't understand why they gave him a mic to sing. This song is so loaded, the lyrics were written by Peter so that Carl would be forced to sing them. I agree that it was a tough decision, I guess in their minds they were keeping the band alive until Peter sorted himself out, they were very young but kicking Peter out only sent him to a much darker path. I also believe that Carl felt like he was in Peter's shadow and wanted to get more recognition, this is from Simon Bourcier's account when recording their first singles : "Carl was always whingeing from day fucking one [...] 'Why does Pete have to be the frontman?'". Anyway, I'm glad they found their way through.

Those men love each other, but the band couldn't handle Pete's drug addiction, after that year Pete get worse, partying hard, doing drugs, going in & out of jail. Now he's going great, thank God.

It can't be the Libs without Pete. Thus this band failed. Carl's song choice was particularly c+ntish! Really of all the songs! He could have played one his!
