The story about your son rapidly going from signing to reading is pretty cool. I'm glad you had good librarians.

Hello Hannah, I enjoy all of your library stories. I'm going to do this tag on Tuesday. I love libraries so, so much. My favorite library story is similar to yours; my library bought my first published book. Shalom and Aloha.

I love when you share these tags Hannah! It would be fun to see a video on the Little Free Libraries in your neighborhood! I started sharing books with LFLs during the pandemic, meeting people from greater than 6 ft and learning what they would loved to read and/or have in their LFL. Every once in a while I would find a treasure too. Thank you, Hannah❣️

@@HannahsBooks I found this lovely UK edition of Miss Austen by Gill Hornby, with the beautiful "embroidered" dust jacket and gorgeous end pages. (I live in No. California, so this was a thrilling find! A keeper😉) More recently I found a copy of Jane Eyre, Random House with wood engravings by Fritz Eichenberg. This matches perfectly with my copy of Wuthering Heights!! How about you? Or should I wait for your video? ☺

Abe (short for Abraham) loved music from early on. The music gene passed from my father to both my brother and my son, but it skipped me! I can’t wait to see your version of the tag!
The summer dahlia tubers arrived for planting today and the post lady greeted me by name, I thought, I must stop buying so much. The Uglow book looks very interesting, it's not a church I know of.

Oh yes! My post delivery person knows me, too-both because of all the books that arrive in the mail and because I am often out working in the front garden. He used to give me good gardening advice when we grew our vegetables there!

I can basically get a magazine subscription for free through Libby?! Fantastic! Also, I loved the library story time story.
@HannahsBooks5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! I’m not absolutely certain that all Libbys have magazines, but I suspect so-although there are plenty of magazines they don’t have. I just looked at the library resources page-which has recently been updated-and suddenly there are temporary access sign-ins for the NYT, Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal. Looks tremendously easier to use than the program I was using before!

@@HannahsBooks I am waiting to receive it, and I will share it with the Disability Awareness and Black Heritage affinity groups at work. I had not heard of his story before, and feel it's just as important to learn about it as the Tuskegee experiments and Henrietta Lack's story. These people are not characters, they are real and we need to learn about them.
