Today the Pugs are a little short-handed--Tom isn't feeling well. But we do have Rosaria Butterfield with us to discuss her new book, Five Lies of Our Anti-Christian Age. It was a wonderful and free-ranging discussion that touched on many things, among them the subject of what time it is. And while it was a sober assessment on the sorry state of Big Eva and the heretical trends in that world, it was hopeful because of the invincible Christ of the Gospel. Tune in and enjoy the show!

I have now listened to several podcasts featuring Rosario. I love this woman's tenacity, boldness and truths. As a sister to a homosexual who said no to his wedding and was shamed for it, I thank her for her testimony. I am beginning her book today. I know God has given me wisdom to deal with my brother, but it helps to have her perspective as I pray for his salvation.

What an excellent discussion! This makes me think about when I was in middle school. I’m 42 years old. When I think back to those days, I only recall one gay person in the entire school. in that short period of time now we have 30% of the youngest generation reported to be gay lesbian or transgender, if you don’t think that there is a spiritual battle going on to kill, steal, or destroy, then I recommend you pick up your Bible immediately. God predicted and prophesied everything going on in our society that is ruining the lives of our children.

@@brucekyer5530 Joan of Ark was a very interesting woman in the Hundred Years War. She had a spirit come and visit her telling her that she was the savior of France. She did seem to have supernatural information. I have puzzled over her story, and I have come to the conclusion that it was probably a fallen spirit who interacted with her because of her insistence on cross dressing, even when not in battle.

“Thief in the closet.” I’ve heard Rosaria use this metaphor several times and each time I’m reminded of my childhood home with deep, walk-in closets. My bother in the room next to me had a thief hide out in his closet until around 3:30 am. After that incident, my parents installed a home security system.

Are there any articles that detail the two things she attributed to Sprinkle's ministry? Most importantly, the one about 'needing more LGBT pastors'? I have been concerned about Preston's ministry for a while, but definitely had not heard of him promoting that before.

Regarding Rosaria's argument against the mainstream "same-sex desire isn't sinful, it's the acting on it" position...I'm a bit fuzzy on the distinction between an external temptation and an internal one when it comes to sexual desires. Most human bodies desire sex. Most human minds crave romantic companionship. But those desires being felt by the individual for a particular type of person (i.e., people of the different sex or people of the same sex) depends necessarily on the external...that is, being around or seeing other people and then one's body and mind responding. It seems like all sexual desire, and all temptations to lust and to engage in sexual activity outside marriage, are a combination of internal and external factors. No doubt the desire for sex with people of the opposite sex is congruent with the design of the sexes as laid out in Genesis, whereas same-sex desire isn't. The former can in theory be acted upon in a way consistent with moral virtue whereas the latter cannot. So it's not a matter for me of rejecting the entirety of her argument. It's just that distinction I'm not clear on. Also wanted to say, that was an engaging and encouraging discussion the three of you had.

The desire itself isn't sin, but lying in bed dreaming about it is - many of these desires come from within us, however many do not but are planted by the enemy like a fisherman throwing a fly to catch a trout. When these desires come to us as thoughts, then we should take them straight to the Lord in conversation but usually we don't, we dwell on them & so they become a snare because our body reacts to the thought. Like God told Cain, sin is crouching at your door, so when the thought of killing his brother came to his mind, he should have dealt with the thought by acknowledging that God was right & taken it straight to Him & he would have overcome the temptation & his brother would have lived. As 1 Corinthians 10: 13 says... There is no sin that the Lord can't help us overcome.

An impressive woman who unfortunately only has one string to her bow and I think her past looms over her to the extent it casts deep shade. I think she needs to _forgive_ her former self and not fight it (she uses martial terms a great deal), then we might see the broader person (ie more than one string) that emerges when Christ touches us. Possibly that person was already emerging, but I suspect that issues with her daughter and grandchildren have brought the resentment back.

@redscorpio450

Elisa, nominally that means study the Word/Bible prayer for protection against such things, then take action when the sin imposes itself on you by quoting the Word back to it. Like Jesus did when Lucifer tempted Him in the wilderness. You keep interposing Christ between you and the sim/temptation. “Resist the enemy and he must flee from you” Eventually the enemy gives up for greener pastures, not furtive soil, you will become to hard of a target.
@louisebrislane6607
@louisebrislane6607 Ай бұрын
If you have an open door to prayer, then immediately a 'sinful' thought comes to you, whisper to the Lord, tell Him to take it away, that it is not your desire, often times the enemy plants the thought in our mind to catch us out when we are not expecting it. We need to live like the Lord is in the room or place with us & just speak to Him as we would a friend who is with us. I live on my own & I often talk to him, sometimes a family member might poke their nose through the door to see who I am talking to & I just say, 'the Lord'. They are now used to me now & as Christians should be doing the same thing themselves as Scripture teaches us that the Holy Spirit resides within us!!

Rosaria, I just don't get it; where does the Bible condemn lesbianism? I am not asking this in judgment, but in genuine interest and in love. I am entirely willing to listen to anything you have to say. But I must admit I am thoroughly of the position that exegesis may only be performed by means of induction, which I do not understand to be a methodology that can possibly produce any condemnation of lesbianism. I just do not understand.
