@venusazaboy5 жыл бұрын
I have loved her since Sugarcubes. She is in her own genre. What I love most about her (besides her music) is that she just doesn't give a "F" about what other people or the media think about her. She does her! So unique, so different. Maybe not for everyone but I definitely recommend checking out her first 3 albums (Debut, Post, and Homogenic) in order. That's how I have introduced her to friends who never heard of her and they are now huge fans. Not every album is incredible and there tends to be a song on each album I don't like, however her artistic ability never fails. She has a huge range vocally and musically. No 2 albums are alike and each seem like they are telling a story (some actually are, like her latest album). Her videos are beautiful, creative and oftentimes intense. A lot of people like to pick on her "swan dress" but seriously, there is more to any person than one outfit they wore one time. That outfit does not define who she is. SHE defines who she is. So, with that being said, to anyone who has not heard her music, PLEASE do. Then decide if she is for you or not. I can tell you that you will definitely be impressed with her subtle tones and angelic, almost fairy-like, sounds. She is from Iceland and the way she sings is actually an ancient singing style dating back to the Vikings (heard her say that in an interview on MTV, I believe). Whether you like her or not, you cannot deny she has talent. For me, she is what music is about; creative, pushing boundaries, trying things no one else has (she has an album that only uses minimal percussion but mostly vocals to make the instrument's sounds), and is honest with her audience in her music. She tells us who she is in her songs and not many artists are willing to do that.

Leon Tarkshina Avant garde is generally less electronical, but Homogenic can still be classified as avant garde. But I'd say Vulnicura fits the genre more, with its use of strings and vocals. Homogenic is more experimental electronic. Homogenic is incredible and is definitely Bjork's best album, along with Vulnicura.
