Tim was a legend and in the end proved to be one of the greatest contributors to meteorological science. he was indeed the greatest to ever live. anytime i think or hear about el reno i remember him and the price he paid.

I just read The Man Who Caught The Storm. Great book. I learned a great deal about tornadoes and chasers. It was easy to fall in love with Tim Samaras and so terribly difficult to read about the last few moments of his life. I put down the book with tears in my eyes.

You said it! I have seen Dan Robinson's video footage from El Reno and it is terrifying; Hargrove's account of the last minutes of Tim Samaras left me slack jawed-- I would not have wanted to be anywhere near that storm

I bought a copy of THE MAN WHO CAUGHT THE STORM a year and a half ago and it is beautifully written from start to finish.

I would have liked to see a much longer version of this video! It was done well, but much too short! Thank you for what you DID share though.

Tim, Paul, and Carl died in pursuit of answers but never forget the price paid for decades by their loved ones who are still paying the price of the aftermath. Having survived a direct hit of an EF 4 that these guys repeatedly ran in the path of monsters was the result of complete insanity or total dedication to the rest of us. What measure of thanks covers that debt?

Katt Mann He died doing what he loved and his loved ones knew what he was doing and supported it because why wouldn’t you? If you have a real passion for something go for it, even if it’s dangerous.

Still crazy to me that Tim the guy who known by the crazy storm chasers as the safe guy was killed by one of these storms..

Tim was reckless that day. Following too closely against all regulations and got himself and 2 others killed. It was his own fault and I can't feel pity for him because of it.

I disagree. The El Reno tornado was a particularly dangerous tornado to be anywhere near; the tornado changed course, expanded and picked up speed ALL AT THE SAME TIME. The situation went completely to pot so fast that Samaras was unable to react.
