These have all been fantastic, but this one in particular was much anticipated. It did not disappoint. A touching tribute to a real hero. ❤

This is fantastic. Carrie was one in a million. And that speech she gave at Lucas's AFI award is legendary. If it pops up in my feed, I watch it everytime.

These Jedi Beats are all top notch. I love the wealth of unexpected gems sprinkled in to the deep dive into the background of each subject. This one must have been an incredible amount of work and the choices were perfect. Thank you Jennifer Landa!

I want to express my gratitude for all the research, effort, and time you put into scripting and producing your episodes. Every episode has been a pleasure to watch, but this one is particularly special and personal for all of us who grew up with her in the original trilogy era. Thank you, Jennifer Landa. I always look forward to watching your videos. Best, Tony.

great job, Jen. Thank you for bringing up Carrie's open honesty about her mental health issues, which were very taboo until recently. If my Princess was open about it being okay not to he okay, and needing an assist from meds etc,, then it was okay for me to admit it, too. Yay Prozac! 😂

I was age 8 when A New Hope came out in theaters. Princess Leia had a huge impact on me. I wanted to be like that gutsy take-charge Princess, not a helpless damsel. She was one of my childhood heroes and A New Hope, to this day, remains my favorite movie for all the nostalgia it evokes. Star Wars was my childhood. It started a lifelong love for all things Star Wars. Thank you, Jennifer, for this lovely tribute. And thank you, Carrie, for being our Princess. You are missed.😭♥

As a kid in the late 70s and early 80s, there weren't a whole lot of independent take-charge women on movie and TV screens for me to look up to, at least not any that a young kid could watch. So Leia was my hero from the very start. She back-talked to the bad guys, she back-talked to the good guys, and she took charge of her own rescue when no one else had a plan for getting out. (The novelization contained the cut line, "This is a detention block, you know; they don't make them with multiple exits.") I loved everything about her, from her white dress to her medieval hair that was long enough to create 2 full buns (and later a high braided crown with a long trailing braid down the back). As the years went on and I grew up, few of the heroines spawned from Star Wars kept their independent nature; Col. Wilma Deering started out busting Buck Rogers' chops, but soon turned into someone with her jumpsuit more unzipped and always needing Buck to get her out of scrapes. Charlie's Angels started off with the concept that these girls were smart and talented and being overlooked, and became more about hotties in bikinis. Everyone lost their edge, their fire, but Leia stayed the course. And then Carrie was writing, and omg I wanted to be able to do it with as much flair and as much as she did! I thought she was BRILLIANT and wanted so much to finally meet her and tell her what an inspiration she was to me. I never did, and maybe that's for the best, because I am sure I would have broken down and cried in front of her, been just another of those crazy fans who bewildered her by loving someone I didn't REALLY know...just like this video made me cry. This was fantastic, and thank you SO much!

Funny how Carrie couldn't wear a bra in the first film, but in Return of the Jedi she's wearing a metallic bikini. How does George explain that one?
