I am absolutely in love with this Mansion , it is a secret dream to restore it to its former glory. I've done so much research on both owners. I would walk by it everyday just to look at it. Now I'm living in Los Angeles but still haven't forgotten about it.

I can't find any current information on this building. I pray that it hasn't been torn down. It really should be restored and entered into the historic register!

It is on the Historic Register.. it was placed on it by Luise Scott, who owned it from 1960s to the 1980s.. She placed it on the register specifically so it wouldn't get torn down during the 60s when urban sprawl threatened to tear it down.

This mansion was built by my husband’s great grandfather. I have always been fascinated by it. I have researched it to make sure our family remembers it and knows where it is. My husband’s father was John Gottfried Krueger.

Thanks for your efforts, I remember not only the Krueger mansion also the Ballantine brewery and all the great architectural buildings and homes in the Northward. Newark was in itself a Renaissance of different ethic groups who contributed in her greatness. If only it would all come back. I sold along with my bother Nelson the Newark Evening Newspaper as a kid in front of the Prudential building while attending St. Micheal's School in 1966.

Thank you for this. As one of Gottreid's great-granddaughters, I learned a lot about my heritage. I vaguely knew of him and of the beer, but the details were never told to me.

My Aunt lived in a brownstone tgat used to be right next door. In tge late 70's, my sis, her husband & 2 kids lived at 711 High, just a few feet away from the Krueger. And I went to Arts High, across the street.

I was going to speculate that was the cause, the all loving democrats ruin anything good, & foster all that is bad ,thier a true menace to society and yet they keep getting voted into office (or do they ) ? ?

Krueger rests in a magnificent private mausoleum in Fairmount Cemetery in Newark. He built it long before he died. He was so proud of it, he opened it on holidays for public inspection.

My husband was Ronald Paul Krueger. He was a great grandson. It was his father John Gottfried Krueger who was the first to put beer in cans.

This is a part of history and should be preserved . It was a achievement that could be accomplished in these times in our country by immigrants if you worked hard .

I blame the daughter of the African American lady that had given her heart an soul to this home and did so much for the African American people. The daughter could of moved in to the home an kept her mother's business still going on till today. Talking about what her mother did and didn't help her with it, to me she is a piss poor excuse for a daughter.

And she’s still a resident of Newark, she’s a “minister” now, but it’s nice to see that it has been restored but I hope it stays nice.
