"Banned for eternity" is a better phrase
@andrewm64243 ай бұрын
“Banned for life” means the life of Major League Baseball, not the life of the man. It’s the same as a lifetime guarantee for a purchased product. Ex: If K-Mart gave you a lifetime guarantee on the purchase of a blue light being under warranty, it lasts for as long as K-Mart exists on Earth, not for as long as you exist on Earth. (It would be expired by the end of this year because the last K-Mart stores in existence will likely be closed and boarded by then, if they aren’t already).

Pete Rose caught the second to last out in the 9th inning. We were so very excited. When the last out was made, we all went crazy. I went outside to see what was happening, and so many students in the neighboring high rise dorms were yelling and throwing confetti, it look like it was snowing. It was the first time I was in the middle of a city that just won a professional championship game. I'll never forget it.

I was totally captivated, and he soon became "Mr. Everything" to me. From that day on I wanted to be just like Pete. I took his style with me through Little League and onward as I played baseball through my junior high school years in Hot Stove. Pete Rose was a switch batter I became a switch batter, Pete Rose went first to third on a hit to the outfield, I went first to third the same way. I learned vicariously that you NEVER cheat the game and give it 100% just like he did, and the game will reward you with far more than you ever expect. Thank you for EVERYTHING Pete! you WON'T be forgotten!

Shoeless Joe Jackson is still not allowed in. It's one of those long established rules of the sport. Once you are out, you are done. Barry Bonds and the other greats who were busted with steroids are on the same list. That ban says lifetime for a reason.

Him and Barry both deserve to be in the hof. Blacksheeps always get outcasted. Ultimate competitor

I'm sorry, but after all this time of teaching him a lesson, I think I would tell the HOF to pound salt. Pete Is baseball. Thanks for all the great memories with the Big Red Machine.

He was my favorite player as kid! If I had a child that was an athlete I would want them to play with that same intensity! He was a winner and a certain HOF!

All sports leagues including MLB, profit off gambling and even promote it. To keep one of the games greatest hitters, even the one that has the most hits in it’s history, is a travesty. Wise up and include him in the hall or stand on your morals and quit promoting gambling. The hypocrisy is noticeably pathetic
