Many others have hosted the Dating Game, but Jim was the one that was known for it. Many celebrities appeared on the Dating Game when when Jim Lange was on there. I always thought Jim looked cool the way he dressed and the glasses he wore. In the 60's modern men wore bang hairstyles in those days, which later lead to the dry look hairstyle. Jim was a natural when it came to that type of dress and hairstyle. Back in those days in the 60's and 70's the Dating Game was one of our shows that our family enjoyed. Jim Lange didn't have a sad ending he did what he loved, and the man certainly looked happy.

Always enjoyed the Dating Game when I was young when it first came on in the mid 1960s and thought Jim Lang was the perfect host for that show but just found out he passed away so for me it was sad to hear that another piece of your youth going away

Why does everybody who dies on this site, have a "sad" ending to their lives?

Probably because it's sad to see anyone die; like to know, though.

I haven't seen much of Jim Lange since Triple Threat went off the air in 1989, other than repeats of Name That Tune which had neverending stints on USA and the Family Channel. The only time I did see him was in the movie "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" as he was interviewed a few times despite appearing different compared to his game show days although he still wore his signature glasses. I saw the movie once and it's really not the life of Chuck Barris I once knew which makes one wonder why he never appeared on To Tell The Truth. Would the real Chuck Barris please stand up?
