I think OG Freddy was fun and actually pretty good. Certainly not Spirit tier, but good enough. And then he got nerfed to hell and wasn't even fun. Rework Freddy was strong and fun to me, but not too interesting. And now he's just... there.

Easiest way to get people to play Freddy more would be to revert his full rework with some tweaks to it to make it less oppressive to newer players, but somehow better against older ones. His ability should be great at singling a target out and making it harder for teamates to help mid chase. Hell, you could literally remove his current sleep mechanic and replace it with the old one and keep his current anti-loopcand teleport. His kit would feel a bit bloated, sure, but it'd make him feel unique and fit his character more imo. His abilities in the movies are basically reality altering. Having all three abilities would be at least somewhat reminiscent.

Honestly? Freddy is probably one of my favorite killers. His teleport is pretty good for both travel and mind games and the fact that he doesn't really have a red stain us soooo good! I was gonna use Trail of Torment (that gag with the perk was amazing btw), but I found myself not needing it. I've literally had moments where survivors go around a building and run straight into me! 😆

Right? I was thinking about that today. Like you could replace Freddy’s model with an original character (except for a few tweaks, like removing his song) and I would have no idea it was supposed to be Freddy Krueger. Blood slowdown pools and teleporting with spraying blood? What does that really have to do with Freddy? Even his Mori could be any other killer, he just stabs them from behind. With Freddy’s dream powers, his Mori could have been literally any insane thing the Devs could dream up, but he just stabs them? It just doesn’t really feel like playing Freddy much. (Especially with him not speaking, which is like 90% of what people love about Freddy)

As one of the 5 people who still play Freddy I was waiting for this. Yes, he's a in a bit of a sad state right now but due to his ability to control gens he can still stomp. And teleporting to a gen mid-chase to surprise a Survivor who broke line of sight with me still hasn't gotten old. Great work as usual, "Life of a Killer Main" is some of the best DbD content on YT. I'm happy you're finally getting to the sub numbers you deserve. Since one of my best friends is a Huntress main and loves your vids after I introduced him to them... DUDE, loved this. Laughed so hard at the chest bit and how seamless the movie bits were. I used to hate going against Nightmares, but mostly because the dream world fucked my low-end PC graphics up. He's still pretty boring to play against, buuut that's because most people who play him hardly ever do to his potential. I wish they made his gen teleport stronger or something. It feels like it's only used for fake-outs. I've had a super fun game or two against some, though, but it's rare. Blood Warden still puts the fear of the Entity in me, I never understand when I find a Freddy who doesn't run it.

I one tricked pre-rework Freddy since I just found him so much fun. While he lacked chasing potential he had one of, if not the best slow down / aura reading which allowed for long games where you could make very calculated decisions. Let alone how you could easily get a first hit if you learned the timing of putting survivors to sleep. While he was op against beginner survivors he wasn't bad against experienced ones as people think. It is honestly pretty impressive how they managed to make such a boring design with such a cool character. It is as if they looked at the hag her power, looked at what made it strong and decided to add everything that didn't make it strong while also making it limited to people asleep. After that they looked at doctors worst addon and decided to add it. The teleporting is cool though but no where near worth the extreme amount of information and slowdown. It really felt as if they just didn't knew what to do with him and just decided "Fuck it, whatever."

One of the 2 killers I mained when I first started playing was Freddy. This was right after the doctor rework when I started playing so he was in the strong but boring state. However I think it was really good to play him back then when I was starting out and wouldve recommended him to newer players too! The skill ceiling basically didnt exist so I could just focus on streamlining my knowledge of the game while cruising on Freddy instead of wanting to die by choosing Oni as my first main. Now, Im a proud Nemesis Sadako main (and soon to be Wesker too) and those 2 killers are super awesome and fun

I Remember when Freddy first released it was too op I used to be a Freddy Main (with his old abilities) just spamming Dying Light and Thanathopobia for Slowing Down Gens while Dream World also dealing a slow repair and healing penalties and the only way out of the dream if someone wake you up or just blowing up gens, Good Times seeing people DC'ing here and there since repairing gens is almost impossible and time consuming.
