Abram took a while to receive what was promised him. I think it has something to do with what the Scripture says. And its not about being positive or having a good outlook in life. Instead, its about walking with God and being blameless. Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty; WALK before Me, and be BLAMELESS. “I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.” - Ge 17:1,2 (NASBU)
