18:10 ''Bucephalus'' story is a great metaphor. That ''stubborn'' stallion symbolizes the Greek states; majestic but fearfull of their own shadow. Many tried to enforce the horse for a ride but none understood what is the root of the problem and failed to ride him. When he faced the Stallion to the Persia/East/Sun he let those fears fall behind and have found his soothing goal. That story tells us his vision and narrative in Greek politic scene. It's important really to learn the history of what happened in those times indiferent parts of the world. Likewise learning the history of our country, the foriegn invassion in us, thier exploitation of our natural resources, thier influences to our economy , etc. Of course, the history made by our presidents, like martial law, may lessons be inculcated in our minds, so that it shall not be repeated again.

The former capital of Alex grandfather's ( Archelaos etc) state was called Aiges that meant the main trade basis of everything, along with being poor in general as a state before finding pangaeon treasures, and reformations mainly based on Phil's copying Thebes, made the rest of Greeks look down on their peasant Dorian relatives ( still nowadays insult in use), especially as phill (and Alex) loved women. unthinkable for a greek king to get married 7 times, and Alex an other 3. yet looking at Persian girls can't blame him for doing so

Cannot believe how so many historians discount Alexander as the person behind his father's killing. He had massive motive and had a serious fall out with his father shortly before. The killer only the most flimsy of excuses for Regicide and almost nothing to gain (except if Alexander/mom had told him he would be rewarded graciously for the act). Meanwhile Alexander stood to gain everything - or lose it all by inaction. The killer fled - and somehow conveniently it was Alexander and his friends who caught up with him in short order and "unfortunately" killed him on the spot so he could not be interrogated for a possible wider palace plot (remember the Macedonian courts - including Alexander's - were rife with leadership plots). While also forcing all of Philippe's loyal generals who were unprepared to immediately declare for Alexander himself or risk getting slain too. Afterwards the new wife and child are slain. Was a nice result for an evening's work for the new King to celebrate in style.

Most of the Kingdoms gave a path to Alexzanders ....as they were sick of paying tributes and actually Persian Kingdom was becoming soft in the head...but to begin with they had a very efficient Kingdom ...and communication routs with posts which kept connection's like pony express originally...and of course it was ground work for furture indications and inginuity.... Even just the throne of Macedonia he fought for, having assassinated all of his siblings that were in line to take the throne before him due to him being illegitimate. Demosthenes never said the "Macedonians were not Greek"-In his speech he said the Macedonians were barbaric-for being a Kingdom with slaves-not a democracy led by citizen councils. He meant this as a way of denigrating Philip and inciting the Athenians to battle. A generation before Demosthenes speech-The Macedonians had competed in the Greek only Olympics. There was never any doubt of the "Greekness" of Macedonia. It is of interest to note, Demosthenes was the first to turn and run in a battle with the Macedonians, fleeing for his life. The Macedonians and their "Greekness" were forever proven when in 1977 Andronikos found the Royal Tombs and the Burial tomb of Philip in Vergina, Northern Greece. A small Greek child can read the inscription on Philip's armor and shield. "Philipas Bassilias"- Philip the King in Greek. The ancient historians from the Egyptians, Jews, Persians, Hindu, Roman and Greek could not all be liars as to the Greekness of the Macedons. And if you knew anything about the ancient greek world, you'd know why. Attic and Doric Greek were very different dialects, the same way that High Dutch and High German were very different, you could just about understand each other, but it was a big difference. AND, Alexander the great did NOT spread "Greek" culture. what he spread was a slew of dead bodies. Nothing "Great" about that. Warlord and killer, nothing else.

I think Alexander played a part of Philips assassination. His actions after his death had a feeling of someone that was plagued by guilt and went further and beyond to prove his actions were justified. It also felt like he was running away from something.

Nah he was definitely killed by that rent boy bodyguard in a jealous rage. If it was planned they would’ve taken him out whilst he was vulnerable… sleeping and a greater chance of escape. Not at a wedding Infront of everyone and getting killed just afterwards. But yeah Alexander and his mother are suspicious as hell so your suspicious are credited. This " full historical" account falls very short of the full account of the accomplishments of ATG. This account is but the beginning of his life. He conquered as far as India, where he learned the advantages of using elephants for war, before moving on. To every major city he conquered, he would assign Greek delegates to govern. In doing so, ATG was responsible for spreading the Greek culture throughout the regions. His demise is as well as his sexual preferences, have been the topic of many scholars. Science leans towards typhoid and or malaria as the cause of his death. Given he married 3 times and was known to require a concubine in bed every night during his adult life. According to historians, he spent 13 days of sexual bliss with female tribe warrior. It's safe to say his sexual preference was clearly for women. ATG's remains laid in state for over 2 years before being transferred to his final resting place in none other than Alexandria, Egypt, where it remains to date.
