This is the story of a lost soul, wandering around the world, looking for the clue to find itself. I really like your art and it's the right choice to follow your heart. It doesn't matter the rest of society has questions. If you don't follow the common herd and people, like family, hate you for it because they want you to act 'normal'... Well, that's ok. I did the same and being older now I know it was the right choice. Love each other every day and everything will be just fine.

I didn't perceive him as a lost soul, I perceived him as a sensitive soul, connected to nature. And who feels at home when in nature and when painting nature. He is very fortunate to have found his calling at such a young age, he struggled for a while, but then he found it. She obviously loves, supports and believes in him very much. Beautiful story, beautiful couple. So inspiring 💗

Joachim's paintings are so delicate and yet powerful at the same time. You've really mastered the art of painting landscape on glass and canvas plus captured nature in all of its variegated moods and colors. I'm an artist too who grew up in a family of artists but like you was told to be practical and earn my living in the clerical field. I got my BA in Art but then have worked 40+ years doing various clerical jobs, doing my art when I can find the time and energy. I'm so glad that you have been able to pursue your passion and not become trapped in the 9:00 to 5:00 business career. You're living your life's purpose and dream. Jenny USA

We all see the glory of God in his creation in some way and it draws us to him even if we don’t realize it. For you it’s art inspired by all the beauty he made in trees, the sky and mountains. For me, it’s being a nurse because when I help others in caring for them, I see more and more how he’s healed me. God wants us to worship and love him, not his creation. And we can love him because he first loved us through his son, Jesus Christ. God bless you, you’re paintings are unique and beautiful.

Sincerely, I don’t understand about painting techniques but I know some things about sensitivity and the gift of transmitting feelings through the arts (music in my case). When I see a Joaquim’s painting, I travel to another world, totally surrounded by an atmosphere of calm and peace. He has the capability of open an invisible path between the artist and the spectator throughout the painting. This is not technique, this a gift, a natural talent, like Leena with filmmaking. We are so lucky of enjoying the art of both.

Well, another amazing film. Joachim, I believe the best decision you made in your journey so far was to call Leena. The two of you are harmony in living. She is the perfect counter to your wandering. She helps you center. She is your champion and a man cannot ask for more than that. My wife and I have been married for 47 years and overcame many obstacles in our life journey together, but we hung in there and continue to love and live. Seeing you two standing side by side towards the end of the film brought tears to my eyes as I recall in college sitting next to this beautiful Alto in choir where I was the paid Tenor and falling for her. Thank you again for your gift to we who watch. Love from Arizona, USA

Joachim = JOY. You know Joachim, your still small voice kept whispering to you over time. And you bounced between the world, and your still small voice. And at one point that Still Small Voice began shouting at you, "Listen to me Joachim" it will all be ok. Trust me. And finally, you turned from the world, and followed your Still Small Voice. And here you are, a successful painter, a creator and a visionary. I loved your Hogwarts little shop idea. I believe that would be the culmination of all the time you've spent learning and DOING. Finally we get to hear your story, in your own words. I am so inspired by your story. Wish we could find a cabin in the woods, somewhere, and just live in Nature like you. Not so easy here. Remember to honor your Still Small Voice. It has done you very well. Now that you recognize it and listen to it intuitively. Well Done Joachim. I'm proud of you. And I am sure Leena is of you too.

Drawing is a different form of seeing; one that employs my eyes, mind, and muscles as well. When I initially begin a drawing, my eyes are most active; then my mind becomes engaged; and as I enter into what artists call ‘flow’, my muscles dominate because they’ve achieved a unity with my mind and eyes. I don’t know any other way to describe what it’s like for me to draw.

This... is a REAL artist story. Thank you so much for sharing this, so many other artists, when they tell their stories, it's such bullshit... "It was hard at first, but it gets better," is all they ever say. Their words are often bordering toxic positivity at best, so entrenched in this stupid "never give up" culture, they think they're inspiring but it's only even demoralizing when I've tried the same things and failed. This actually helps. To see your real journey, to be taken through it. I understand this on a much better level than others' petty platitudes and "git 'er done"s, and it actually gives me hope and understanding. Leading by example, not with empty words. Thank you. On so many levels. Thank you.

I feel mostly at a loss for words. This is a beautiful documentary of Joachim. And his honesty and clarity about his journey is just so sacred and touching. I think, when a person has a great passion and gift, it must be lived. This can be so painful in contrast to how the world wants us to conform. But to deny it is even more painful. Joseph Campbell said, "Follow your bliss and doors will open for you that you didn't even know were there." Having lived 68 years, I believe he is correct. I hope you both continue to follow your hearts, remain true to your own purposes. If you do, life may not be easy, but it will always be rich and true and you will always be home in yourselves.

@@joachimingulstad Yeah, but I think it was really more of a justification than excuse. "Look I'm being productive, I'm not just bumming around hiking and camping in the woods." Not sure that's healthy. At one point I made a point of leaving my camera at home to so I wouldn't be focused so much on the image. But you know what, I found nature photography actually helps me experience nature more fully. While others are quickly passing by me to get in their steps, I'm noticing the reflections of tree trunks on the pond, watching the mouse scampering around in the leaves and the observing an otter playing in the stream. Nature feeds my soul and the camera helps me focus. Anyway... we love watching you and Leena in the videos. We are also one of her Patreon supporters. Keep Wandering! Thx, Ken

If no one's told you guys today, I just love you kids! And I am so proud of you for realizing who you truly are and what makes you happy at a younger age! Much love and blessings from all of us who figured it out too late, working crappy jobs that never amounted to anything!

This glimpse into your life/lives is just lovely. Thank you for sharing it. You, Joachim, are a gentle, beautiful soul. When you talk about the future toward the end of the video, I found myself smiling ear to ear in excitement for you and Lena.

Absolutely wonderful story about following one's passions. As a university student who enjoys making videos and working on website design in my free time, and trying to run a side hustle, I appreciate seeing this, it's very inspiring.

The fact that in nature, nothing wants anything from you. That's deep! I find your story very inspiring.

A very beautiful and interesting video; I have learned from it, for instance, that there is a lot of pressure from the outside world - family, friends, tradition - imposing someone to do things in life that are common and well respected, but that the person in question does not like at all and how difficult it is to abandon that trail and to find your own way, to fulfill your own dreams, in one word, to built your own life. With his great friend, Leena, Joachim made it, finally. Well done, Joachim!

Thank you so much for sharing your story, Joachim. I believe I am able reflect your story about your studies on mine - in my surroundings, after finishing the Gymnasium, studying seems the only logical step to take. It was completely fine by me, as I had intended to study anyway. But the only satisfying thing about my first studies was writing my stories well after midnight. After changing from Tourism Management to Linguistics, one of my greatest passions, it once again sparked my creativity and vigour. Now I am working on a novel and intend to live one day as a novelist. Stories like yours inspire and encourage others to follow their dream and true passion. Much health to you and Leena♥

Oh my gosh! Wow. I have tears in my eyes, because I thought my story was complicated and felt there were few out there who I could relate to. I found Leena through the KZbin algorithm after watching Jonna Jinton. Thank you for posting this, I get it. Your artwork is beautiful!

You should both be very proud of this video. It is excellent, and very professionally produced. It is lovely to learn more about you Joachim and to see more of your work. I can entirely relate to your struggles, and am very familiar with being a square peg trying for years to fit into a round hole. You are very lucky to have the wonderful Leena in your life, and I'm so pleased that you have now been able to make a commercial success of your talent. So many don't ever make it, so well done to you. I wish you every success for the future.
