Longer videos make way way way more money. One viewer for a multi hour video will be shown 30+ ads while a shorter video would be like 1-2. Also longer videos tend to perform bad at first but get picked up by the algorithm days or even weeks later. Look at their most popular videos they’re all life of videos with millions of views.
