The android saga from dragon ball Z, that arc was one of the best. I remember growing up watching as a kid..

I honestly preferred the Android saga over the later Cell saga of the Artificial human arc. There was suspense in the saga, expanded lore, and even the settings and environments were different from the usual desert wasteland battlegrounds in other sagas. The Cell games had Gohan going Ss2, but the plot is not as interesting.

Nah I love Dr.Gero.not his character, but his contribution to the storylines. Hell, they even use him as a reason to bring in Android 13,one of my favorites. He's also the reason we have Cell, my favorite character. As well as 17 and 18 who are favorites among many, which in the long run saved the universe as 17 won the tournament. So we have Gero to thank for that.

It's a retcon, Dr Gero as a character and concept didn't exist yet in the og Dragon Ball, later in DBZ Toriyama introduced us to Dr Gero and tried his hardest to convince us that he was there always since DB and that's why Gero wants to to Kill Goku. Every additional material for Dragon Ball be character guides, games and commentaries tries to organically include Dr Gero in the origins of the Red Ribbon Army. The black character you are talking about is Staff Officer Black (Later named Commander Black after Commander Red's death) who was the final antagonist of the Red Ribbon Army Saga in og Dragon Ball
