The Life of Moth Flight

Last week's #wcotw was the very first medicine cat in the history of the Clans, Moth Flight/Mothflight. In some ways I can relate to her, especially since some of younger Moth Flight's behavior is similar to ADHD. But I definitely don't agree with her decision about medicine cats and kits, and her behavior in Squirrelflight's Hope. What do you think of her?

I find it interesting that this story contained a relationship between medicine cats that led to kits. I think it’s a rarity. Would be interesting to see a book where two cats already leaders having a relationship and having kits in the process. Sounds quite a scandal.

I don’t like Mothflight, she was cruel to give away her kits the way she did. They were going to be apprenticed soon and there were plenty of cats to help her, she just refused help. Then she banned it because SHE couldn’t handle being a mom. She was better before her kits and the rule she made.

I feel like i might be the only one who understood mothflight through and though even this video doesnt do the truer deatils of her life, i will allways cherish her. I havent read any parts of her being in starclan after her super edition though so i cant judge that area.

I agree!! She had no right banning meds from having kits! She had a really bad situation (she had her kits about at 12 moons old, when most cats are still an app) but I feel like that gave her no right to decide the future of the other meds. Honestly, she struggled because she was so young and her mate died, but the future meds will probably be more mature before they have kits. It just annoys me ngl

I’m pretty neutral towards her but I highly agree. It’s crazy to ban everyone’s right to something due to your own (like one person not a minority group I mean) incompetence or struggle. I like to think that the book isn’t a justification of the ban, but more of an explanation of why or how it came to be and how one individual can affect the future of society by banning due to their incompetence. She tried to balance though, but the fact she banned having kits because her own struggles sounds selfish. She had good intentions but it led to future unnecessary scandals. I understand her being angry, but she was ignorant of the fact that the birth of Leafpool’s kits was a major key to defeating the Dark Forest.

I think her rule of med cats can't have kits was stupid the rule should have been a med cat can't have kits unless they have a fully trained apprentice and her giving up her kits like that was cruel

Moth Flight's case was different. She was the first medicine cat, her mate died, she had four kittens and no one helped her, so to her the rule had sense. But now it doesn't, so the rule has to be changed as you said

They always ruin good characters for no reason later on just for drama, they did that with Bramblestar and I will never forgive that, and they made Moth Flight such an asshole in Starclan for no reason at all.
