In this video, ‪@JamesReeves‬ is at Huğtek Arms' booth during IWA 2024 to see what is allegedly the lightest .357 Magnum lever action rifle in the world. Not only is it light, but it's reasonably priced and modular, with the ability to change furniture and accessories using other Huğtek Arms lever guns.

I just went out and looked at the prices. The cheapest, not including shipping, transfer fee, and taxes, was $555. If you include shipping of around $25, then I have a couple of good FFL's here in Idaho that only charge a $25 transfer fee; then add our 6% sales tax; it will come in at around $640. I'll pass.

I'm just guessing that the price will eventually be around $400 once the newness wears off and reviews start pouring in. Depends on how they load the market with availability. The Rossi R92 cost me $640 but I had to spend another $200 on aftermarket parts and lots of polishing and honing to make it work. I never could polish out the loading gate to keep it from slicing my thumb in the same place every time I took it out shooting so I eventually sold it and bought the Henry that I can load from the tube.

I might have to grab one of these. For a straight wall pistol cartridge chambering I feel like they picked the perfect round with the .357. It would be hard to pull off that low weight with a full size centerfire rifle cartridge. Also it's the best caliber to compete with other manufactures that have similar offerings in entry leverguns such as Rossi/Braztech or Henry.

Big IF: IF the common chemical reaction between aluminum and ferrous metal has either been metallurgically eliminated or insulated by thorough spacing, there is a high likelihood of cathodic corrosion whereby the receiver becomes a sacrificial anode, gradually weakening and seizing up by oxidation, particularly exacerbated by sweat through handling. Assuming that has been taken care of in design & production, this might be a longlasting handy firepiece. If not, then: "Caveat emptor."

@@morrismonet3554 It may hurt G-Force's sales since they don't show any pricing. I agree with you, I'm not so sure I like the idea of steel locking lugs into an aluminum receiver. I love John Browning's Winchester 1892/1886 design and have worked on a few Winchester and Rossi versions. The 92 has a very strong bolt/receiver lockup (in steel). It's actually stronger than a Winchester 1894 (which I notice HugTek also builds a clone of). The lever action we're discussing (1892 clone) seems to be a clone of a Rossi R92/M92 even down to the firing pin saftey on top of the bolt right behind the locking lugs. The receiver is shaped like a Rossi (unlike a Winchester 1892) as well. Considering the rifle it's copied off of is a sound design, and as long as the engineering, materials, and tolerances are at a high standard, HugTek's line of 92 type lever action rifles should be ok. Although I wonder about replacement parts availability and/or compatibility with a Rossi R92 parts (without too much gunsmithing/alteration). The more I think about it the biggest concern I have with an aluminum receiver is the treads inwhich the screws are tightened into. The steel hammer pin/screw, the smaller loading gate, carrier/lifter screws, and guide screws, etc. all threaded into the aluminum receiver could become a major problem for anyone working on one.

I’d be interested in seeing how the aluminum receiver would stand up to a lot of full power magnum rounds. Would the locking blocks push back into the aluminum and increase headspace? The 1892 action is one of the strongest lever actions ever made but idk about aluminum

how is it that S&W can make a revolve in .357 out of Aluminium-scandium alloy . no way could you make a small J frame in 1892 steel, and make it to last@@morrismonet3554

I'm a little worried that the rear locking slider locks into the aluminum receiver.

Mmmm this or a used American made Henry. Henry has good customer service and any issues can be fixed in the United States. Are there any service centers for this in the United States?

I'd be interested *if* it was cheap enough, *and* they offered it in more than just 357-- need options for 44 mag and 45 colt, and needs threaded barrel.

And it's a Turkish manufacturer. I just asked them if they'd consider making a .357 rifle with a vertical interchangeable magazine and pump action.
