Nice to see Skipton on here! Must be one of, if not the best sounding eight in Yorkshire.

I have rung at all four of these towers, and I did regularly used to go to Skipton Practise, but not anymore, you sometimes find me at Bingley now.

Some lovely towers. Skipton are beautiful bells. When I heard Saltaire I thought they must be Whitechapel bells due to the shrillness of them which is classic Whitechapel. I got it wrong they are Eijsbouts.

I cant fathom how there could be a debate over Skipton in Craven! They sound amazing

Because Yorkshire is spoilt for choice! I'd argue Tadcaster give them competition - haven't rung at Howden so can't say. Also, sound-wise, you can't really beat Saltburn (which I grabbed today), but they are hard to strike and rarely rung

Slight correction - Saltaire wasn’t devoid of bells, they had a ring of 6 (mix of Blews, Warner’s and Carr’s) which were last rung at the end of World War I and were sold for scrap (£85) during the Second World War.
