James William Steven Parker Because life exists by only materialistic processes right, and you are only atoms that by chance came together in time for no purpose but to rise and collapse. All for no real purpose but the unguided process of nature.
@prayunceasingly20296 жыл бұрын
James William Steven Parker According to your worldview cannibalism wasn't really wrong, neither was pedophilia and rape, when and if the societal consensus says it isn't. Even a supposedly "good" consensus like we have today is meaningless if morality isn't given from above. You talk about "good" animals. There is no such thing as they act on instinct and do not need to try to be moral like we do. An irritated horse will kick a person and possibly kill them without any thought or feeling or consequence at least in it's mind. A herd of cattle may stampede over a person, no thought included or conscience involved. We are the only species that feels truly bad and thinks about the consequences of our actions. Your worldview explains that conscience away into oblivion and meaninglessness. Because according to your own words, rape, abortion human sacrifice, human trafficking and pedophilia are equal with charity, the golden rule, and self sacrifice, depending on the moment in time. Nice moral compass that is. Bestiality has already been approved of by Canadian and European courts. Did you consent to that as an individual? I sure didn't yet the moral compass of my own society and community has adopted what I consider very immoral. The same goes for people who pump themselves full of hormones and hormone blockers and call themselves the opposite sex.
@prayunceasingly20296 жыл бұрын
James William Steven Parker Btw many communities all over the world today including Canada want that 2000 year old book to be their moral compass and source of truth. Jesus Christ lived and taught truth. And he died on a cross for sinners like you (who would believe on him) as predicted by the prophets before him. And he was exalted as foretold the prophet Daniel. And his people followed his instruction which he gave - to share the gospel to the ends of the earth. I trust the word and truth of Jesus Christ over every other word from this earth.
@prayunceasingly20296 жыл бұрын
James William Steven Parker Explain to me how any immoral act is objectively wrong when societal norms may change regarding those acts in 50 years time? Just because societal norms are what they are today gives no garuntee they will stay that way. Your version of a subjective moral compass is very shaky as it gives no garuntees. My version gives objective, permanent garuntees which will never change. Christ is trustworthy. Human nature is not.
