I feel like this is a great video for me to leave this comment. I was over 330lbs once and now I am around 220lbs. It was slow and steady process that lasted over a year. I started with walking (6k steps per day), increased my water intake (min. 14 glasses of water per day), swapped sweets with fruits. And I also took a meal plan from OnlyMeal and that was game changer. I have never been hungry, and pounds just fell off. Honestly a recommendation for everyone.

I do what I call the compensation style of eating when I'm in a fat loss or maintenance mode. If I know I'm going to have a 'cheat' meal that is going to put me into a large calorie surplus for the day, or week even, I compensate by fasting or significantly decreasing my calorie intake for the day or week (which I got from one of TD's earlier vids). I don't do this weekly but only on 'special' occasions which in turn makes it from time to time. I generally follow the protocol he went over in the video though. I MOVE A LOT and enjoy smaller portions of 'cheat' foods throughout the day. Side note; One of the biggest game changers when it came to staying lean all year round was increasing my NEAT. I started moving a lot more and increased my step count. I went from average 10, 000 to 15,000 and that pretty much gave me the availability to eat what I want, relatively speaking.
@micaheldey198113 күн бұрын
Exactly. That was the cheat code for me. Started getting 10K a day then kept pushing myself. I average 15k now and push for 20k. Some days I get 20K or more just depends, but I can eat almost anything now in moderation. Just stay away from alcohol if you are trying to get jacked or ripped, it never lets you get over the hump.

A chocolate protein shake with blueberries is usually my cheat meal
@chrisandjessaltman226315 күн бұрын
😂.... my cheat meal is similar. Stoneyfield Whole milk Plain yogurt, I add some cinnamon and vanilla (with a little stevia sometimes). Then I dip a cup or so of frozen strawberries in it. If I have the extra money, or it's on sale, I will get my preferred Blackberries and raspberries. If I have more than 1 cup of berries I feel miserable for days. Same with the yogurt. I'm vegan, so it's a definite cheat for me and I feel the hunger for days after. That's why my "cheat" meal is actually my refeed when I'm feeling super weak and my skin starts going flaky. I have extreme anorexia. I restrict and advoid. My berries and yogurt are about once a quarter. Sometimes I don't have the yogurt and just the berries when I'm not feeling carnivorous.

I always hated doing cheat meals in the context of what most people think of as a cheat meal, like going to a fast food restaurant, getting pizza, having ice cream, things that are high calorie extremely low nutrient density. Instead what i found was a lot better way of doing it was to look at my healthy diet, pick out the things that i really enjoy the most and allow myself to have slightly more of those as a treat not a cheat. I still get the perceived reward but with the higher nutrient density and better metabolic regulation.

I mostly cook at home. That way I eat healthy nutritious meals. When we do go out to eat, which is rarely more than twice a month, I find a way to make it ketogenic, prioritize protein, leave the bread, veggies instead of starches, and for cocktails, I’ll have a vodka soda or a carbliss, a 0 carb drink. If we are going to an upscale place 1-2 glasses of dry red wine or a martini. If we go out for pizza, maybe 2x Year, I eat 1-2 slices, leave the outer crust, and a lite beer. And I don’t feel like I’m missing out. Damage control. It’s a consciously controlled event. Split a slice of lava cake and coffee with my hubby on our anniversary, sooo good. I do this when I’m with my friends too. They see me a healthy person. I never feel weird! It’s about the experience, not the food…. Of course, I didn’t do this until I hit my goal weight. I continue to eat maintenance, low carb, high protein and healthy fats. It’s not a diet, it’s a healthy lifestyle and we do need to enjoy life…

I have found a combination that I really like that some people may find useful to be higher carb low fat on high output days, low carb high fat on lower output days, and low carb low fat on recovery days. Granted that is assuming a high protein intake across the board but I focus the type of energy where it is needed. That allows my cheat days to be my recovery days, which are going to involve a large amount of BBQ chicken, steamed vegetables, melted cheese and teriyaki...yummm! Or maybe a good slow cooker chicken cabbage and onion soup.

I don't have cheat days, I have cheat snacks everyday. I track calories in/out and make sure my total calorie intake is roughly (33%/33%/33%) protein/carbs/fats . Every big meal is centered around protein with healthy fats and carbs layered in. If I'm going to over do it, I'll increase protein and decrease carbs and when I mean over do it I mean like 200-300 extra calories once in awhile. However, big carbo days will require more carb intake. Been working so far, as I've gone from 265 lbs to 200 lbs in one year and I never think of it as dieting.

This adaptation of thermogenesis might indeed be accurate if researchers have discovered it. However, I find it quite surprising. Personally, over the past three years, I have lost a little over 80 kilograms, and my Basic Metabolic Rate has continuously increased from approximately 15 kilocalories per kilogram to currently 27 kilocalories per kilogram. I can’t imagine it being any other way. With severe obesity, mitochondrial health is poor, and muscle mass is low. When one loses weight - and loses weight correctly - mitochondrial health improves, which increases the Basic Metabolic Rate, and muscle mass improves, which also increases the Basic Metabolic Rate. This adaptive effect seems very strange to me.

We're very different people. I enjoy cheat stuff more when I can eat my fill of it, and yes I do sometimes get cravings afterwards, but I fight it off easy enough given that my fat/protein centered diet is very satiating. So a nice, horribly unhealthy pleasure stop every 2 or so weeks is good for me. Sticking to my diet also helps me justify it when the time comes, so I'm getting a benefit both ways. It's basically my reward and encouragement not to fall off the wagon. (also my low carb diet eats all my grocery money anyway, it's not like I can buy a pizza everyday or doordash like some people; I literally can't afford to go off my diet more than a few days a month lol)

If cheats meals/alcohol reminds you of the possibility to feel pleasure and life..Something inside and/or outside you is not what you need... It could of cause "just" be a matter of calorie intake. if you are eating 1000 cal / 2 meals a day. But your body needs 3000. Its not easy to "have a life". So "cheats" become a need. 2 meals / 2500 cal would "bring life back" and cheats out. Cycles of 8 weeks weight loss/ 8 weeks Maintenance (not gaining weight), might work for some. And let you get rid of mental "weightloss" fatigue

People are loosing limbs, going blind and condemned to lifelong kidney dialysis as a result of their diet. Just about all disease can be avoided by proper nutrition. If you go from 2500 c per week and drop it to 2000 c per week you may have dropped how much you consume but you didn't drop how much your burning, you lost weight BECAUSE you were burning excess fat, your body was still consuming the 2500. So of course if you go to 3000 c you will gain weight. The drop from 2500 to 2000 was only in intake not usage

My cheat meal is literally plain dark meat turkey with the heart and kidneys (i dont like liver), bone broth, steamed green beans, over easy duck eggs, mushrooms, red onion and garlic, with my fav pecorino romano. And yes, thats a huge cheat for a vegan. Then my dessert is whole milk yogurt with cinnamon, vanilla, stevia, and some berries. Sometimes i dont eat the yogurt. Sometimes ill just sit on my bed and gnaw on my wedge of pecorino. I also love dry mizithra cheese if my cheese counter has it. Its a hit or miss though because it doesnt sell well. Illl drink my homemade stevia sweetened hot cacao with it and actually use a little coconut milk instead of just cacao water. Im anorexic and have type 1 diabetes, celiac, a slue of allergies, IBD, gastroparesis, extremly low blood pressure (80/50), and heart failure. At 29 years old ive had 3 heart attacks from hypokalemia. I really have to watch what i eat. So no fried or salty foods. And no carbs because i refuse to take insulin that makes you fat. Im kinda just scared to eat. So my usual meal is celery and natural peanut butter sprinkled with flaxseeds. I love crazy richard's p.b.. I will have a plain lettuce/leafy green salad (no carrots or cabbage) with a little fresh herbs, evoo, tofu, and walnuts as well. No pepper though, because it makes my nose run and i sneeze and get a scratchy throat with swollen eyes. I eat very basic, kind of like a 1 1/2 meal a day kind of thing. I will have 2 squares or bakers unsweet cacao bar on the side sometimes. I love the bitter sweet taste of it, but i also have a histamine response to it. So its a dirty little cheat for me. Same with my cacao water with stevia. I love it, but dont have it everyday. Because im fairly certain that im allergic to it. I have a reaction simular to when i have nutritional yeast but not as bad. Just smelling yeast in the bread isle makes my entire body swell up. And guess what isle the p.b. is in...... the bread isle. Thats why i order for pickup. Im kinda just waiting to croak at this point. Life is miserable when i cant even enjoy a meal with my family. I cant eat bread or digest meat very well. No sweets, potatoes, or corn. My babies dads favorite meal is steak and potatoes with cornbread or sweet Hawaiian rolls. 😢 i generally just hide away in my room all day and treat my littles to sneaky heath foods like almond flour banana bread and dark chocolate when nobody is around. They dont know its "healthy" food. They eat it just as well as the junk food. I wish my kids father had a better mindset. But i guess im just happy that he meets me halfway and cooks their meat in the oven and makes baked potatoes with real kerrygold. Seed oils and margarine are banned in my house for home cooking. He does buy store pizzas and such occasionally. But atleast im winning a little. Id rather my kids have scrambled eggs made eith whole milk, and no sugar added sausage with wheat toast than a damn pop tart or muffin. I think he just dont understand nutrition as well as i do. Or has trouble with change. Hes in his 40s, old enough to be my dad. So hes probably just set in his ways and ive learned to accept it at this point. He does try as much as he can. I get him to bend a little. I just with corn on the cob and baked potatoes werent the main sides. I do make some killer homemade fudgy brownies, gooey white chocolate blondies and chewy chocolate chunk cookies... grain free and sweetened with coconut sugar. I dont eat them. But noone else is the wiser 🤫. Whatever i make usually dosnt even have time to cool before its gone. I also make p.b. fudge and frosting for sadwich cookies. And i will make whipped cream and put it in sandwich cookies for my littles. For that they like my sugar cookies. Theyre not fans of cinnamon so they like browned butter cookies. Sorry for my long rant. I have nobody to talk to. My littles are tiny, so i usually just hear excited jibberish from them ❤😊. Better than nothing. They are what gets me through the day. They keep me going and force me to move my body. I cant lift them or run with them. But they hold my hand when we walk, and i watch them run off all their energy. I love in ohio with a ton of nature parks around. I can make it through old mans cave with breaks. And the littles love fishing. Beautiful views. And we do alot of sceenic drives with good music. I just wish my health was better so i could do more. I fear that my littles will miss me if something bad happens to me.

FWIW, the creatine gummies advertised at beginning are not “allulose sweetened”; every flavor is sweetened with tapioca syrup and also cane sugar. Just sayin’ that’s not what he put out there. Check stuff carefully. Also all but unflavored LMNT have (probably varying) amounts of maltodextrin. Look up the backlash 👎🏽

@Kilroy.402 There are no negative health effects from consuming zero sugar. I don't understand the cravings thing either. If you go carnivore, you'll have no cravings. I'm on it 24x7, but I could see someone using the diet to lean out and then eating more carbs if they want to bulk. Personally, I just use dairy as a tool for that.

Why is Thomas being deceptive? Create has sugar and more of it than allulose. 3g sugar is how much most gummies have. They just added a pinch of allulose
@ThomasDeLauerOfficial15 күн бұрын
Please don’t accuse me of being deceptive. They have a couple grams of sugar in 3 gummies and that’s for creatine uptake. The primary sweetener is allulose. But additionally, their stick packs are completely sugar free with monk fruit and their daily gummies are also zero sugar.
@trumpdrago51715 күн бұрын
@ i apologize but it seems deceptive to me because sugar is listed above allulose on the ingredients, so they use more sugar than allulose. I feel the str8 up thing to say was instead of full sugar it uses a third allulose. Just curious for my fellow watchers, how many of you thought they were strictly allulose from the ad? Reminds me of “made with olive oil” in bold then on the back olive oil is the 6th ingredient after seed oils. I feel like they just added allulose so they can try and trick us. The allulose barely adds anything. A gummy with the same 1g sugar taste just as sweet
@ThomasDeLauerOfficial15 күн бұрын
