Luke was a smart guy. He was a doctor, a historian, and was also great with symbolism. In this video, I discuss a the latter a little more in detail. www.ko-fi.com/travisdrum www.patreon.com/travisdrum

Luke is definitely doing something under the inspiraron of the Holy Spirit. Thank you, Pastor Travis, for pointing it out to us. I had not seen it before. So blessed to be in your channel.

How would one determine if a holy spirit, an antagonistic spirit, or even no spirit inspired the anonymous author of Luke?

I love your point about judgment and salvation. The two are always together. Wrath and mercy. They occur, they occur together, and when they do you have the resurrection.

Love your work in Luke. Bunch of other stuff, too. Temptations of Christ in chapter 4 Jesus does answer the Temptations in reverse order. Nazareth haters try to throw him off the cliff, Jesus casts out demons, and then the miracle of the catch of fish. Satan temps about food, then temps with his supposed authority, then trying to get Jesus to leap from the pinnacle so egotistically Jesus would be glorified by his appearence floating down. These three are the same as the temptations as Eve was tempted in Genesis 3. Then, look to 1st John 2 description of the lust of the flesh lust of the eye and the vainful pride of life. Examine how we sin. I suggest when we sin, we sin by those three category lusts. Can you police your lusts to keep from sinning against God? James 1 sort of points out sin and lust, and the end product, death, not physical. See 1st John 1:9 for the cure if you do sin.
