I remember working with this dude on his reboot (my name/profile pic show up in the video!!) The whole thing was a fucking mess. First of all, he wanted to have 99 episodes. THEN, he started building lore and enemies for the main cast (he was obsessed with the new DuckTales reboot at the time) which didn't fit the "Animaniacs" aesthetic he had put into place. And then worst of all, he just... didn't do much and kinda left us scrambling to figure out everything he had dumped onto us. If he was John K., then I almost became Bob Camp, since I was the one keeping the wheels turning until we called him out on his bullcrap. Looking back, I don't know how I didn't see the red flags early on, but I'm damn sure glad I kicked him to the curb

I think this is a good insight on the series demonstrating both its flaws and appeals. Personally, I did enjoy the series and I was impressed at how he used OpenOffice to animate. The designs were pretty cool in my opinion and the voice acting was great. Some episodes were pretty meh and others were pretty funny. However, I couldn't stand all those Victor and Penny scenes (especially when it eventually got over the top which contributed to him getting exposed). I was weirded out by the fact that two toddlers are a lovey-dovey couple. But I thought, given their age, it would be some safe puppy love kind of shit. And of course, I was wrong. People over-glorify it too much with that "Slapstick" episode and since a lot of it is just known for Matthew yelling. A good web series is remembered for lots of notable stuff rather than just something ironically meme-worthy. And since my own web series was mentioned at (15:43), I am obligated to say "THERE I AM, GARY, THERE I AM". However, as much as I wholeheartedly respect your opinion, putting my series on the same level as all those others doesn't make much sense because my series was never even meant to be considered a webtoon series in any shape or form like all those others.

If I would, I could polish that turd of a movie he did. Remove all the creepy forced shipping and repeated scenarios of dialogue, make the movie slightly better and more watchable. And have a better ending. The series itself in my eyes is always gonna be a trainwreck. But if people like the series, good on them. I'm not gonna get mad about that, as long as they aren't defending the creator. But i'll never forgive matthew for trying to pull off cancel culture on me by making those exposed videos. And abusing his crew members behind production. Not alot of people know my history with him. If you're wondering who made that google drive link, that would be me. I've compiled all of those screenshots anonymous users have sent me back when the drama still occured. And I was responsible for leaking the infamous 69th floor animation. All of you don't have to thank me, I'm just glad I got him away from talking to kids.

I... remember working with 320. I was the bud who redesigned some of Matthew's many background characters (like Carter, Edgar, Andreas, and Denzel, as stated and shown in the interview), since I thought a majority of them were bland and still are to my eyes. I once suggested him to make Timmy and Tanya to look much more different only for him to want to keep them the way they are. No wonder why the two were frequently mistaken for siblings because he refused to change the two to make them more unique. Penny and Victor, meanwhile, UGH, I flipping HATED them from the start, but especially Penny! Meanwhile, production on the CM reboot was horrible! Matthew barely did ANYTHING for it, instead wasting his time RPing in a private Tupperbox server (which I was in), worldbuilding lore for CM, or just spending his days laying in bed thinking about the drama he got into when he brought it upon himself. In all honesty, I think CartoonMania could've been cool if Matthew wasn't so lazy! And don't even get me started with Matthew making his icon pitch black on Discord frequently, often changing his username to dots. (like this: *************) That behavior made me so concerned and uncomfortable I had to get away from him TWICE, but I ended up returning to help him again when I should've just stopped talking to him in general. When the drama was about to happen, I ended up cutting ties with him for good, since I just had enough with him! His blacking out was so bad, it has become a genuine trigger for me to see a pitch black icon now. Now, I think CartoonMania is just okay at best and generic at worst. Some of the episodes are pretty funny. I will admit it was cool to see someone use OpenOffice to make a series. Meanwhile, back in 2018, when I discovered CartoonMania, it actually inspired me to start animating again. However, I do feel like the name "CartoonMania" does feel a bit generic and once suggested to 320 to change the name, but he declined. This is all coming out of a former CM production team member.

Cartoonmania and its creator are a disaster story worthy of being part of webtoon history. In 2019, I was actually connected somewhat with Matthew, even having him as a friend on Discord during that time unfortunately. At the time, I mainly dismissed a lot of the criticism he got because he was in communities where they were protecting him, and I got a little brainwashed because of it. Seeing what would come or stuff that I ignored in hindsight, it's shocking that he wasn't officially outed until his departure. Even ignoring his disturbing interactions, his series gave off some bad vibes especially when we watched the movie that has no substance to deserve being one. Why he decided to force a shipping with his Penny and Victor characters is beyond me, and given their age it's no wonder he got in trouble for that ship later on. There's also that one Shantae bellydance animation remake he did with Tanya which you didn't mention. I actually remember some of the controversy behind it, and his fans and I just went with his weak apology. Oddly, the reason I actually cut ties was because he was posting some obnoxious stuff on his Twitter, resulting in an unfollow (because yeah, I was sticking up with him at the time even if I was never big on his show). Overall, this was a great review of the Cartoonmania series. Unbiased and thoughtful like critique videos should be, and I agree with you on next to everything said. I am a little nicer in terms of the animation, and admit that it's impressive for the software he used at the time. Still, the limited animation and unappealing style really harm the series, especially so with how slapstick focused it is. Still better animation than whatever that Rodfellows nightmare was, and this didn't have the same production issues that did. Cartoonmania, while not having a super creative or deep premise, had loads of potential and some episodes and ideas confirm that. Matthew made it worse with the way he acted, and that's why there's been such a reevaluation of the series after he was outed. Don't know if it shows how overly optimistic Twitter types are to any animated media, or if it's just the curse of being supportive to anything with a cool idea no matter how poorly it's executed. Lastly, thanks for allowing me to cameo in this at 15:18, geckos truly are sacred critters.

My experience with him is quite a trip. I won't try to make it long but to put it in short, we didn't get along very well, mainly with me. Yeah I dealt with things back then that really hurt me and that I put it on him, I wasn't thinking straight at the time. besides with what happened in the community I was in. I'll admit that i went too far when he called me out on that drawing I did on him, while yes i did regret that. I however don't regret being so harsh on him. I originally wanted to voice for his cartoon but it didn't go well and honestly I'm glad I wasn't. Especially after he tried to "expose" me on a video. I was kinda involved with the drama that happened in 2020, I do know who was responsible for the infamous 69th floor animation. If it wasn't for that and his secret account, he would've gotten away with it. I could go on about this more when it comes to me and him but I'll end it here.

after doing some research, the Closest Person i could find was "George Benson Travel". however, George Benson Travel used to upload Omegle Videos, Minecraft Animation's (i could only find one), gameplay Videos, and Vlogs. however he also does a lot of Fifa Gameplay, actual Soccer Tricks and Goals, plus Reactions too. however, he only has one Animation and thats basically the "MINECRAFT on Chatroulette". so yeah, George Benson Travel only did one Animation and that was it. so no, its definitely not him on the Wall of Animators.

Honestly, to see a project that I honestly give little care on, it is shocking to see how much this failed. CartoonMania's most popular video is well the film that I just refused to watch because I've got better stuff to do. And hell even when I was researching him. I found out this guy lives in my state. But besides that, I do think CartoonMania is just something people will just forget. But I'll be for real. CartoonMania is honestly boring and found out this guy is making his reboot which good luck with that. If I wanna give this on a scale I'll give CartoonMania a 4/10 because it's just boring. It sucks that people still support this guy to this day after all he did. I mean the drive's gone now which is bit of a pain. But hey pretty good and informative video I gotta say

The show “CartoonMania” was the horrible thing I’ve ever saw, i used to like of his videos just because he got drama for that, and the show is most likely a clone of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends on Cartoon Network, Warner Bros’ Looney Tunes, Animaniacs and Tiny Toon Adventures. and Disney’s Mickey Mouse, Bonkers and Goof Troop. Which had better slapstick than that.

I used to like this series, but then I stopped caring for it. The cartoon style isn’t that appealing, the animation is too wacky and fast pasted (unlike some animations like Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs and Hotel Transylvania), and I think it has too much slapstick, though I like slapstick cartoons like the Tex Avery cartoons, but not ones where the slapstick is overused. And Matthew? Well, let’s just say he needs help. If anyone like this series and still does, fine by me. Edit: Oh yeah, and it feels like a cheap copy of Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends
