You shouldn’t laugh. It’s clear that she’s the one who’s had the routine drummed into her so hard that it’s not only sucked all the joy out of performing but the fear of getting it wrong and what happens to her as punishment is causing her to have a break down. And at such a young age. Pray for this child.

I adored the little one in blue, who kept pointing to her as thou to say "she's distressed. Someone help her." And looking at the audience in confusion because they just laughed and clapped. Understood that someone needed comforting but didn't understand the resulting emotional response from the crowd. Tried several times to help... wanted to give them all a hug. To young to be preforming to such a huge crowd.

Sure she cried because of how overwhelming it was to perform in front of a crowd and the noises, but she pulled through. She's going to be a hard worker when she's older because she perseveres well. An example of real bravery for someone that small. What a trooper and an inspiration! Kids are so self-conscious, they will always think you’re laughing at them. If they don’t think what they’re doing is funny, they’ll cry. Cover your laughter with cheers and encouragement

I really think she was just scared of the loud sounds. If you notice, she stops crying momentarily before the 2nd song comes on, but seems more scared during the 2nd performance because the audience is constantly clapping and it's a lot louder than the first performance was. She didn't seem particularly scared of the people at first, but when the clapping started up, she went to hide behind one of the other little girls.

What do these adults want from them at their age to memorize things like literally...are you even adults bcz this thing doesnt make you look like it at all. They have to memorize things all the time in their life for future so let them be at peace atleast in this age but no you all are setting stage to show people the so called choreo you made them learn in whatever way to show their cuteness even if they ball their eyes out on stage, stand still, do nothing. At end of the day its a toddler who cant remember all the stuff let them live at peace atleast and eliminate such type of trend. Even though a sinhle comment cant do anything but still people should be aware bcz anxiety, traumas any type of mental issue we are not born with it such incidents are the cause of it which only make them bigger in future and we dont know how any incident will effect every person.

Actually, it is quite possible to teach a toddler a short dance routine. Normally at least one teacher would be in their sight on or near the stage or in the wings, doing the routine with them but not always. Often there is the one stand out who just owns the stage! (Although it's not usually the one who is crying ... And there's not always one crying, either. 😊)

I taught dance for 15 years. This is my absolute favorite age! I had tons of fun watching this baby girl!!!! I'm so proud of her! I had a little one this age once who cried her first 2 years of dancing! She was so shy it literally hurt her to be looked at, but in year 3 she developed a performer personality where as long as she was on strange her shyness went away. After dancing for years she got into cheerleading and eventually became a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. Proud teacher here! You never know where the experience of early age performing will lead. It always leads to more self confidence AND treasured home videos!!!!!!!!

You had fun watching a little girl being traumatised and over stimulated for the entertainment of adults at such a young age? Humans aren’t right.
@staceydailey6394
@staceydailey6394 2 жыл бұрын
@@Piecesoftheshadow I had fun watching a little girl who went to class once a week for 6-8 months to learn a dance (and learned it quite well I might add) that the goal was to get in stage and perform for her family. She isn't traumatized, she is simply doing something new that takes a set of skills that she has most likely never used. It's possible her teacher didn't prepare her enough for the rushing, bright lights, and different sounds of performing. But most likely the girl just got a little overwhelmed. It isn't like she couldn't run off stage if she really wanted to. It's obvious she wants to be there but over stimulated, yes I can agree that even adults who performed thier entire life can get over stimulated. Just we get upset tummies instead of crying. I think she is precious, talented, and a natural performer! That comes from myself as a professional dancer, and licensed dance instructor. At this age, this experience will help her build her confidence, weather she becomes a brain surgeon, a politician, or the CEO of a worldwide mega corporation, this night in stage will assist her in all the things for years to come.

@@staceydailey6394 I suffer from anxiety and sensory overload and things like this my entire life made my anxiety much worse, not better. Not all kids are the same and humans really need to learn to have more empathy. You can literally traumatised and mess people up at any age when forcing them to do things like this when they’re clearly in distress. Watching a little girl like that crying that hard while everyone laughs and claps is honestly gross, regardless of all the time she practiced or how much she remembered. She can build confidence in a million different ways besides one way where she’s, again, clearly in a great deal of distress.

@@Piecesoftheshadow you can't speak for everyone. I have social anxiety and ADHD. I did get sensory overload my first time on stage and felt slightly disoriented because I had to dance a routine I had practiced for 9 months in front of a mirror now on a much bigger space with no mirrors which almost felt like dancing in the dark BUT I wasn't traumatized and surprisingly didn't get stage fright. Mental health issues/experiences are not all black and white. Unfortunately alot of things like this are trial and error. We don't know if the girl was forced or asked her parents to continue dance even though it made her anxious. There were alot of things about dance that I didn't feel comfortable with (pressure/competitive vibes at dance comps, constantly having to be in group settings) but I still asked to continue year after year because I loved it

Imagine learning an awesome routine that you manage to master to have to do it with a bunch of others that can't even try to fake it. Aside from stage fright I think she started to cry more when she realized no one else was actually doing the routine, making it way less awesome.
