Can we talk about how Halle Bailey looks nothing like Ariel? Let's break it down: Ariel's skin is like porcelain, while Halle's is a rich caramel. Ariel's eyes are a crystal-clear blue, but Halle's are a deep, soulful brown. And the hair-Ariel's iconic red mane versus Halle's natural black curls. Disney, this casting choice is just plain wrong. #NotMyAriel

Halle Bailey playing Ariel is the biggest miscast in Disney history. Let's look at the facts: Ariel has a fair, rosy complexion that looks like porcelain, while Halle's skin is a beautiful shade of caramel. Ariel's eyes are a striking blue, but Halle's are a warm, inviting brown. And let's not forget about the hair-Ariel's long, flowing red mane versus Halle's short, curly black locks. Disney, you've missed the mark big time. #NotMyAriel

Dude, we get it, you hate Halle Bailey casted as Ariel. You don't need to post the same type of comment twice. Also, in my opinion (*MY OPINION*, so you don't get mad at what I'm about to say), but I personally feel like the amount of complaints about Ariel being black is being considered not only woke, but from a video I watched reviewing the film, is actually racist too. The fact that she doesn't have the same skin colour like the original 1989 feature being one of the complaints is not only abismal, but is seriously so out of order. Heck, what if a black person is casted as Megara in the upcoming Hercules remake? Is that poor casting as well? Or what if a white person is casted as Tiana in the upcoming Princess and the Frog remake? Is that also poor casting? If so, then I'm sorry, but I do not see that as a complaint when it comes to movies. I honestly see that as being racist. I'm not saying that whoever is casted is the complaint, I'm saying that the complaints about their facial features, their skin, is crossing the line. Which is why I believe that everyone is beautiful, no matter the difference, shape or size.

Oh, I never expected that you would make a comparison video of these two movies. I'm filled with joy about this as the original "The Little Mermaid" has been my all-time favorite Disney classic since I was a kid and now, as an adult, I've loved the live action even more (despite the criticism). So, thank you so much Matt, I think I'm going to watch this video on repeat now, get ready for tons of views just from me haha.

I love it when live action is faithful to the original. Although I obviously prefer the live action animated version, I liked the relationship between Ariel and Eric more and that the film did not end with a silly wedding, considering that the characters had known each other for less than a week. And I also like that it is Ariel who defeats Ursula, since it would be like her act of redemption for the mistakes she made.

With Ariel defeating Ursula, there's no reason for them to owe respect or trust Eric or any human. Am I the only one thinking logically here? Plus, she has fins and it looked ridiculous. And by the way, Disneys been avoiding doing weddings now for eons so not sure why we can't have one again.

Just saw this film all the way through today and man, it sucks! Ariel doesn't need any help ever from anyone, not one clearly likes weddings, many scenes are rushed, acting is bad from many characters, etc. No wonder everyone's forgotten about this film already. It feels like it should have another title and Ariel should have another name because it's not The Little Mermaid period. The Hans Christian Anderson quote at the beginning turned me off in just the first 15 seconds because they are referencing him to make it look like they care, but then they also ignore other things he said and quoted in the story like the fact that Ariel had very pale, white skin. Go figure! Just the original for me, thanks Disney!

In terms of following the original storyline, the 2023 live action did it so well without being so overboard, unlike Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast, just enough changes that's needed to be improved upon the OG. This makes it my second favorite after Cinderella (2015). Regardless of what everyone says, Halle literally embodied Ariel so much! The other actresses who did try for her role won't be able to get her like how Halle did it.

I never applied for monetization until 2023 and was approved. I figured it might be nice to finally make a couple of bucks from KZbin between projects and have the motivation to develop a more regular release schedule. I changed my methodology for music and started using music from Uppbeat which I licensed. After uploading the Forrest Gump side-by-side my channel was demonetized. I’m frustrated by the disingenuous reason for the demonetization more than the actual money involved. Money will be made from these videos, all of which will go to KZbin. Why there has to be racial gap/barrier between animation and live action remake? The original 1989 animated film is so beautiful and it seriously has to be ruined by race swapping an original existing animated female white character into a live action black version of themselves. This is racist and offensive. I know Rob Marshall casted Halle Bailey after hearing her voice during the audition and he was in tears and selected all because of voice, but is he also forgetting the original authentic physical appearance from animated film what Ariel even looks like. Rob is such a knucklehead. His statements, he was color blinded, millions of women of all ethnicities auditioned for the role, Halle’s voice sounded so mesmerizing that he had to pick for the role and set the bar so high, vulnerability, clever, nature, personality, and when backlash arised, Rob thinks it is archaic and Halle doesn’t even care to solve the problem because even though she knows backlash is going to arise based on her statement, “As A Black Person, it’s not a shock anymore you just expect it” and thinks it is not as bad as her grandparents based on the racism they faced in the Deep South picking cotton, no matter, all forms of racism is bad, and Halle seems to okay with racism indicating, it’s okay to be racist, racism is beautiful, racism is great, racism is awesome, she likes racism. Is Halle sick or something? Disney and Rob Marshall just focused on her inner qualities instead of external qualities, inner and external qualities are married and cannot be divorced, this is just bullcrap and nonsense, voice/talent and original authentic physical appearance are married, no matter what the time period, generation, era is, voice/talent and original authentic physical appearance are married and connected together. Also, Disney thinks race swapping is step towards diversity, they misunderstood, it is a breach and violation against diversity, race swapping an original existing animated female character is racist and offensive, no matter what the circumstances are, race swapping is a bad idea. Never ever do that. It is offensive against whites and blacks. Who knows, Halle also used performance enchancing drugs to manipulate her voice, vulnerability, nature, character, to get the role of Ariel. What a musical scumbag and thug she is!

Skuttles even had to be a female.. 🙄why? The new song was awful. I just have such low expectations for Disney now.

The directors were such liars during their press releases… “We searched far and wide for the perfect Ariel, and THEN we came across Halle” A few weeks later it confirmed Halle was the very first to be seen and got the job almost right away. She can sing, but she can’t act.

Sorry, but Halle Bailey doesn't look anything like Ariel. Let's compare: Ariel's skin is fair and flawless, like a true mermaid princess, while Halle's skin is a beautiful shade of brown. Ariel's eyes are a brilliant blue, but Halle's are a warm, deep brown. And then there's the hair-Ariel's long, flowing red mane versus Halle's short, curly black locks. Disney, this casting choice is a disaster. #NotMyAriel

@@RafaelHerrera-jc1xv 🤣😅😅🤣 Puff. Qué raro, no?
@RafaelHerrera-jc1xv6 ай бұрын
