Disney has been hit and miss with the live action films, I loved Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Maleficent, but Lion King, they sacrificed facial expressions of the animals for the sake of realism, and do not get me started on what they did to Mulan. But I'm confident this one will be good and for one major reason. The Little Mermaid saved Disney. The company was on the verge of collapse and Ariel and crew saved them, ending a thirty year stagnation. This movie launched the Disney Renaissance. This movie is one film they know they absolutely HAVE to get right. People won't forgive a screw up with this movie. So, I know they'll do right by this one.

Yeah, once Walt Disney passed away they had real difficulty creating engaging animated stories. They were on the verge of bankruptcy and this film saved them.

I absolutely agree with your comments about The Little Mermaid plus I enjoy seeing everyone's reactions and pleasant comments. But I have seen the hateful videos and one of them I just found out is spreading hateful comments about the new Disney films Pinocchio The Little Mermaid plus the new Snow White film. These are angry hateful comments with racial undertones in his videos this must stop so I gladly did something about it

I am crazy excited for this movie!! 😃 I don’t understand all the hate, Halle is absolutely stunning! 🥰😍🧜🏾‍♀️ 💖 Her voice is flawless, PERFECT pitch. She instantly makes me believe she IS Ariel! 🥰 🧜🏾‍♀️💕🧜🏾‍♀️ I’m 41, child of the 80’s, and The Little Mermaid is my all-time favorite Disney movie….the entire trailer made me so emotional and took me back to my childhood. The visuals, music, and Halle…made me happy cry 🥲 🥰💕💚 Have you seen videos of little girls watching the trailer for the first time? They are adorable! Seeing them excited that Ariel looks like them is so sweet! 🥰 ❤️ I’ve also seen reaction videos of white girls, and they don’t care that she’s black… they think Halle is beautiful and believe her as Ariel…gives me hope for the future 💙💙💙 The people who are “upset” about Ariel not being white, really need a reality check. If seeing this trailer didn’t make you happy, well, I don’t know where your heart is. It’s supposed to be a fun, happy movie. Just sit back and enjoy watching it with your kids 😊

I know alot of people don't like changes but for me i love and embrace changes i think changes is a good thing i also know alot of people prefer old school 80's and 90's shows and movies over new ones most are disappointed about the new shows and movies think it's bad but to me i love both old and new shows and movies equally there are some shows and movies i do dislike think it was bad and some shows and movies that are old and new i do like think it was good equally in my unpopular opinion i just love giving things a chance to see if i will like it or not the samething goes with a video game even if it's popular or unpopular and i also want to say that i love this the little mermaid remake trailer i'm going to give it a chance give my own opinion on it

That’s a good mindset to have, being open to the changes. For example with the live action of Aladdin when they did a remake on Friend like me. I’m glad Will smith did his own version and made it his own, it really suited him. But Yess I am very excited about this film The whole cast is spectacular. We got Daveed Diggs who played Thomas Jefferson in Hamilton Broadway, that man is talented! I have every faith in this show

In fact, the animated Aerial"d skin should have been beat red by the end of the movie . She would have burned being in that water all the time because she liked to hang near the surface with the sun beating down on her and being enhanced through the water.

the original book is not danish, the only danish is the author but not the fairytale book that he made, just read the book first before talking shit, the book describes her skin as ROSE LEAF which means shes green not white plus her hair is not red at all its brown slut. disneys version is not danish either you can see there's a jamaican accent crab, plus prince erics castle is not inspired from danish, plus ariels red hair represents the red sea so ariel should be brown in the first place not white,disney made her white because white characters is more acceptable before than black characters and if you want disney to follow the original story ariel should have green skin right now, ariel should have brown hair and die to the last part

The animated Ariel always puzzled me. I never understood why a mermaid living in a tropical place lacked melanin. It makes more sense to me that a person of color would be cast in this role. And that's not to take away from Halle Bailey's amazing voice, as well as, how amazing she looks as Ariel. I have no doubt she definitely landed the role of Ariel because she is very talented. It's good to see Disney fix their whitewashing mistakes.
