I was always bullied in school, my kindergarten teacher went above and beyond and always cheered me up and she gave me a VHS tape of this movie one day and I watched it all the time. I don’t have that tape anymore sadly, but every time I hear this song for some reason it makes me wanna cry to remember how far I’ve come.

Growing up in the mid-to-late 90s seeing this movie felt like I was seeing my childhood being portrayed as well as living it at the same time because the way my friends and I would interact, the way we hung out, and the way we did things was just like how they would have. Plus I relate to it a lot because these were kids from a rural small-town type area, middle-class families, and they're practically like a street gang who had the mentality of we don't care what color you are, what shape you are, and where you're from let's all enjoy our time together and all have fun together. I'm 28 now and this movie still holds true to my life and to this day I still wish I had friends like that.

this was one of the only movies my family owned when i was a kid. whenever i was sick and had to stay home from school, this is what i would watch. this song reminds me of those days, when my mom would set me up on the couch in front of the TV and make sure i was comfortable for the day. she would tuck me in nice and cozy under a blanket, give me some apple juice and toast and put on the little rascals 🩷
