The iPod could be in between set music, or for system calibrations. He did say he tries to replicate the album sounds at the live shows, so perhaps he uses the album as reference during set-up, for accuracy purposes.

Amæthron yeah, he does that all the time, which is why they had a mic shoot out test and found that the sound from the Sennheiser e865 capsule didn’t change much when Mike cups the mic and they’ve used that ever since

Chester did it at Rock am Ring 2004 almost throughout the whole concert and it is still one of their best concerts.

@@tsfbaf303 he did, and you can hear how the sound changes drastically when he does it. The sennheiser mic capsule they started using in 2010 sounds nearly the same
