I actually really like this scene because it's a great interpretation of what would happen if a spider and a lizard had an actual fight. Lizards are very aggressive when they are trying to kill, Whilst when spiders are going in for a kill, they're diligent, agile, and patient but once the spider catches its prey it gets violent. And that's what basically happened here, great directing by Webb!

I still don’t understand why Andrew Garfield was treated poorly for his spider man role, He’s an amazing actor and in my opinion he did amazing playing the Spider-Man.

I think it was because people kept comparing him to Tobey Mcguire. And at the time being different was BAD. Spider-man NEEDED to be like Tobey Mcguires version. I remember people were so darn picky over any risks the franchise took with Andrew Garfield, even though Marvel have taken some of the biggest risks ever with Holland. SO Im under the impression we needed a 3rd actor to play Spider-man before people got off Andrews back for not being Tobey Mcguire. And when you put the 3 together i think you really appreciate Andrews version alot more. Perhaps even more comic-accurate.

Because it acts nothing like spider man especially on the second movie. He's more of a creep obsessed with his ex. Also that opening scene with him letting Rhyno kill people with his truck is so damn out of character.

He probably acts more like Spider-Man in terms fo personality than what Tobey Maguire does. Tobey was just awkward without much charm or wit of spider-man. spectacle without personality. And there is more to the character than just Awkward. Which every version we seen after whether its Holland or into the spiderverse, or animated shows understands that. But at the time people thought that Tobey was how spider-man was, and getting a more accurate version felt wrong.

​@@uDaftBugger Just because it's comic accurate does not equal good writing; people dislike his movies because the writing is god awful. For example, in TASM 1, the lizard's motivation is so weak compared to that of the Green Goblin or Doc Ock , Lizard is literally Spider-Man 3's Venom type of villain at best. People are watching it as a movie and not reading a comic book. There's a reason why people love the Guardians trilogy despite not reading the comics, similar to the Raimi trilogy.
