One problem with the HSTs was when a train passed you/crossover whilst going at 110mph, the tables would rock uncontrollably

Sadly, these are all gone now. I definitely prefer them and the 91s in terms of comfort, even though the 800/801s have the edge in speed and acceleration.

@@class56trainsrock62 XC has 7 car sets, EMR using now EX LNER 8 cars sets ;) BUT, THIS IS VERY LAST YEAR to pick this train, and due to covid and line closure (electrification), a lot of HST services are canceled, running Meridian trains instead. So, check timetable ;)

Did that exact trip about 4 years ago with my wife traveled up on a Sunday train was mobbed from Edinburgh came back on the Saturday same route again. Traveled both ways on a staff pass so both journeys cost nothing and got upgraded to first on way back.glad i did journey before the hst was withdrawn

Those trains are in MML now (Nottingham-St.Pancrass), so now is really LAST chance to ride classic set of HST train. Up to 125MPh, slam doors ;) And You missed memorial at hill (somwhere inbetween Peterborougd and Grantham)... Is big enough to see at 125MPH :D Hint: Is about TOP SPEED of SOME TRAIN ;)

This was actually taken with my phone (which I no longer have). My newest videos (which are still a few months away) were filmed with an all-inclusive gimbal, which thankfully stabilises the footage (and in high-quality too).
