I’d also recommend listening to Moira Quirk’s narration, she captures the characters wonderfully and clarifies pronunciations. (Eg Cytherea is pronounced Kith-er-ray-ah. I originally pronounced her name like you did tho)

I have found this video while I was in the middle of reading harrow. I have bookmarked it and spedrun that book to be able to watch this video and all I have to say is THANK YOU I am German and I read the original English version and I was not having a good time. I didn't understand half of it, even tho my English skills are not that bad to be able to comprehend. But oh my John was I in for it. The summary you gave with all the important details had me finally realizing it all. I am looking forward to read the last book. This fandom has to grow. Great recap. I listened to this series as an audio book and love Moira Quirk’s narration but the plot is so involved and the cast so broad that I wish I had a print version. What you provided took a lot less time than either replaying the audio book or obtaining and reading the book. I do believe this series is probably best read but I highly recommend the audiobook as well.

Thanks for this wonderful recap video. I do not believe I am the target demographic for this series but I really fell in love - the series has a lot of heart and makes you really care for the characters. I found the world building and foreshadowing to be top-notch. I guessed a lot of the big reveals in HtN but it really felt deserved - not that I instantly saw them coming and they ended up coming across cheap, not at all.I read closely and highlighted and took notes and made sense of the world and the story and it was so rewarding! Your video is also super validating because even though I felt really lost during HtN (I was told by a friend to just pay attention and keep reading despite the confusion) I really didn't end up missing much!

Abigail and Magnus! :( About 20:00 - yes! it was abrupt, and - I think - a little premature. I am now rereading Gideon, and I actually had a hard time remembering who they were. We have been introduced to a lot of characters, but it's hard to build much of a connection with them since Gideon was ordered to remain mute and hide herself away. I'm not sure what I would do differently (I am not a writer or storyteller), but it did strike me on this second reading how little I know them (but not the first time, so...) Perhaps on my third time through in a few years, I should make a nice diagram like you have! I thought of doing that this time...
