In this walk, we cover the vibrant Greenwich Market, the naval history of Cutty Sark and Greenwich University, and finally walk up to Greenwich Observatory for a red sunset.

My wife and I live in California. Our daughter and son-in-law have lived in London for four years. Last year they moved from Central London (near Notting Hill and Hyde Park) to Greenwich near its SE entrance. We just returned two weeks ago from our latest visit. Greenwich is a busy must-see area. The town, the shops and especially the venerable Greenwich Market are indeed vibrant and worth seeing. We did not tour the Cutty Sark, but it is an impressive sight much larger than I anticipated. We toured the Queen’s House. We felt the park itself is more interesting and diverse with its hills and varied vegetation than Hyde Park. Enjoyed the video as a nice reminder of our recent adventure.

Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Many years ago, I spent a day in Greenwich doing the touristy thing, Thames barrier, Cutty Sark etc and never took any photos so this has sparked my memories of that day. These videos of London are extremely good as there are only so many times you can watch someone walk up and down Oxford Street, so thank you for taking the time to produce something different.

There used to be a fantastic antique and collectible market at weekends but the site was redeveloped to make way for the university building. The indoor market has gone downhill since COVID. Now it’s mainly food stalls. Not very interesting.
