The "Hi-yo Silver, away!" at the end of the show is the recorded voice of Earle Graser, the radio Lone Ranger who died in a 1941 automobile accident. No one could get it down quite as well as Graser did.

One of my favorite western bad guys... *William Scott "Jack" Elam (November 13, 1920 - October 20, 2003)* "Elam lost the sight in his left eye when he was stabbed with a pencil during a boyhood altercation with a fellow boy scout."

And that became his “signature card” to being chosen as a bad guy in many films.

Some roles are meant for specific individuals. Clayton Moore is the Lone Ranger.

You know that's one of the first times they said buy when they parted ways without them looking around saying I didn't get a chance to thank them .

Love this show! Whatever happened to the Andy Griffith Show? It's not on KZbin anymore

Who ever owns the rights to it is making you pay to watch the show on here and having videos of show posted by others taken down. If you search for "The Andy Griffith Show" you will see the pay to watch pop up.

He was an outlaw in another episode, too. Can't remember the name of it though.
