I lived right next to where this was being filmed over the summer. The entire town showed up for Johnny Depp's autograph signing. He was so nice and down to earth.

I usually wait for netflix, but this one, I am definitely seeing when it first comes out. and bringing my sons with me. I grew up on the original lone ranger and brought them up on the saturday morning re-runs of the original series. we even have a lone ranger christmas ornament. i wish clayton moore was alive, I am sure he would love this.

I just saw this trailer for the first time. Johnny Depp was filming this movie in the southwest, near places where I live. He came into my restaurant afterwards. I wasn't his server, however he was very nice and tipped well. Was kinda cool. Fancy restaurant. He and his business entourage. Whoever plays the Lone Ranger was there too, but I didn't recognize him till just now!!

FYI, Helena Bonham Carter had a successful career before she worked with Tim Burton and the two films from which she was Oscar-nominated weren't directed by Tim Burton. She's been acting since she was 16 and she soon broke through in the mid-1980s. I dislike that people forget she's has her own career.

You never grew up watching The Lone Ranger did you? You never noticed how Tonto and the Lone Ranger managed to be in multiple places to knock out the bad guys and make it look like the town's folk did it. Or the fact that the Lone Ranger never had to reload his gun or the fact that he always won despite the fact that he was a terrible shot. The Lone Ranger was always comic book like even in the days of radio, that's part of the fun. Do you like Die hard? Yes? That's a comic book type western.

The reason why is that it is easier for the actors and actresses that have been in movies together in the past because it can usually be easier. It is very heartbreaking to see one actor leave and never join the others again. It makes the actors more comfortable just when they use the same cast sometimes.

Personally, I am super excited for this movie. Sorry if you find this trailer offensive but in my opinion it is sticking to the time the show/movie is set in (yeah it was horrible but that was then, this is now). Also for those of you who are mad because Johnny isn't Native American, that is why he is called an ACTOR! Duh! I mean really? Did you get mad that he wasn't a real pirate playing a pirate in Pirates of the Caribbean? That is showbiz.

The theme song actually was in the movie and so was the Lone Ranger saying, "Hi Ho Silver AWAY!!!!" Also while Johnny Depp may not be a full Native American or look the part he put a lot of work into preparing for this role. If you want to dis the movie at least see it first.

1) Armie is HOT 2) Action movies with Depp are good/do well. 3) anything done by Disney will be altered in some way It's Disney, they do w/e they want. A modern western with 2 great actors that doesn't include aliens??? I'm sold. 4) To the guys discussing horse colors. It's likely that throughout the movie, BOTH colors were used. Ordinary ppl can't distinguish the difference. More than one horse was used the movie. On average, 3-5 horses are used in a film. Looked like a Qtr either way.

Superman had Marlon Brando as Jor-El and Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor both well known movie actors. Superman, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen and Perry White were relatively unknown actors at the time. The Lone Ranger movie has now grossed over 200 million and by time it's on blueray, dvd, network, satelite, cable TV, internet possibly Hulu and Itunes will turn a profit.

My husband, Dave Huesmann, is in the Promentory Summit Band, playing coronet, in the film......we live in Northern New Mexico, where a portion of the movie was shot.....pretty cool, huh??

I understand. I know Hollywood isn't fair. I'm glad Johnny is into his culture. My family has a Mohawk ancestor story that got me interested in the culture (although anyone can be interested). At the same time I know I'm white. I still believe there are full blooded and half blooded Native Americans who could play this role. I also think Tonto is something we didn't need to remake. Tonto is not a name from the Navajo Nation or any other tribe for that matter....it means stupid in Spanish.

The Lone Ranger is not so bad. The period detail and set design are fantastic. Depp is solid, so is Hammer. The film's a bit overlong and some of the plot elements are confusing but if you liked the Pirates of the Caribbean flicks, you'll be entertained by this one. Some movies are suppose to be over the top, like Die Hard, others are meant to be more intellectual like Star Trek. Now if you were reviewing the new Star Trek and accusing me of liking that movie you would be right in your assessment. But this is not Star Trek or 2001, or even True Grit! This is The Lone Ranger! A movie made for kids from age 7 to 700. It's suppose to be fun. The story is great for a story made for kids and kids at heart! You don't like it don't watch kid films!!!!!
