Thank you so much for showing the inside of the Austin courthouse. Especially the old pot-belly stove. Some fairly significant family history went down there and I've only been able to see it in person years ago when I was a child.

The skeleton didn’t have a chance to get a word in edgewise! 61 days total…37 ride days.

I was in court once, in uniform, and the Judge started laying into me about not being prepared. The prosecution was talking about a Trooper, who wasn't there, asking for an extension. The Judge thought I was the Trooper. He took a break right after. A bit latter I was standing in the back hall by the Judges chamber. He came out and approached me saying he has to remain impartial and didn't want anyone to think he showed any favor. Then he says you don't look to upset. As tactfully as possible I told him I wasn't the Trooper asking for the extension. He asked why i didn't correct him. My reply "It will be a cold day in hell before I ever correct a Judge in his courtroom". Sorry for the rant but it was the first thing that came to mind when you were talking about removing your hat. Thank you so much for sharing your adventure and being so entertaining!

Too many familiar things in this video: 1. The Hilton Garden Inn you stayed at is about a mile from my brother’s house. 2. Fallon NAS was the last base that my son was stationed at (about 2008). 3. I actually had the monster burger at Middlegate Station on a club ride in 2016, riding in the opposite direction, from Ely to Carson City. The place was fantastic, and incredibly crowded! One last note, on the way to Ely we took US 6, which from Tonopah onward was actually much lonelier than US 50! A mere 169 miles with zero gas stations, if my memory serves me correct. Or anything else, for that matter! The ride was in late May, and the desert was amazingly green, with tons of wildflowers, and snow-capped mountains. I was shocked!

Oh wow! Would have loved to see the desert in the spring.

Miriam, you tempted me a spa day and I think that was it here. Cracking me up. It took us about 2 months to adjust to being at a higher elevation. I have no idea what's going to happen when we go back to normal. It was super exciting seeing the top gun area from the air. I love the details. I will share we saw Tom Cruise once when they were making Rainman out by her house with Dustin Hoffman. I'll have to tell you the story later. I love the drone footage. . Miriam looks happier eating the hamburger then the camp food lol. Great video guys!

I think I would be so scared of riding that log a distance in the desert. Great footage and that monster burger looked yummy.

Hey John & Miriam, another entertaining video. Interesting history of US route 50 did not know that. I can see why they call it the loneliest road with all that view of nothingness. Lol That burger from the food truck looked good ! I’m sure it was better than a meal from a pouch. Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Ryde safe and God Bless Artie & Tracy

I agree about the food in Santa Rosa. Over the years, I have spent a lot of time there. However, you didn't even eat at the best restaurant. Try to imagine how good the best food there tastes.

So you gona hook a brother up and give us the name of the good one?
@ronjohns4582 жыл бұрын
@@JohnMiriamsTravelVlog Could be either Joseph's Bar and Grill or Comet II Restaurant. The Comet was a true 50's style drive-in with servers on roller skates, the whole experience. But it burned down and he rebuilt it as a nice, modern building. It lost most of its charm, but, luckily, the food remained the same.

Morning travelers. I'd heard that some parts of 50 was quite lonesome but never ever saw it until now. The parts of 50 that I know is somewhat different as you might expect especially in west va. For sure a snake laid that out. Questio, is labor day meet up still on? Need to know so we can plan for it . Love the shots across america.its still a country worth fighting for. Later.

We are still meeting up at Shenandoah NP over Labor Day weekend. The Big Meadows Lodge is fully booked now, however. We’ll be gathering at 10 am Saturday for a group ride. Swapping tales in the pub at 5 pm Friday. Email us if you think you can join in.
