this game should allow you to build a smoking rack over a fire to dry meats and then combine that with animal fats to make pemmican

You can now make pemmican bars. You get the recipe for them from the Trader, build a meat curing box and use salt to make jerky, then make pemmican from that.

I think the animal fat turns into cooking oil. Not sure how you prepare it though.
