Heh, you need to check out the D20 Gamma World. Post apocalyptic with mutations, genespliced/mutated creatures/races (many playable as characters), cool AI robots of many designs (playable as characters except for the big boss monster types) so you could even be a sentient mobile vending machine, Vaults created before the massive war that made the world all messed up, all kinds of Fallouty goodness.

How does Caravan work exactly anyways?

​@@Sarah12471it's blackjack but with strategy. Basically you have three lanes which are called tracks and your goal is to make a caravan that's meets or exceed 21 but doesn't go over 26. If you have more lanes that are successful caravans (also referred to as sold caravans) than your opponent, you win. Play ends when each lane has at least one sold caravan on either track. However your opponent can use some of the face cards to ruin your caravans by either encumbering them or discarding your cards To build your deck, you must have at least 30 cards. These can be any cards you choose, but there cannot be duplicates FROM THE SAME DECK, ex: two Kings of Spades from the lucky 38 deck cannot be used in the same build. However, if you can get a King of Spades from a different deck like the tops casino deck, you can then have 2 Kings of Spades, one from the lucky 38 deck and the other from the tops casino deck. At the start you draw 8 cards from your deck, you can redrew a card as many times as you want before you place your first card. To start, you put one card on each of the tracks on your side of the lane, this will be the first card of each track and will determine the suite. After the three tracks on both sides of the lane have one card each, play begins. The second card you place down on a track can determine if your track is ascending or descending, for example on my New Reno track, I start things off with a 10 of hearts, I place a 9 of clubs below it so the lane is now descending, and if I want to place another card below the 9, it has to either be something lower than 9 or a card that's a heart. On your turn you can place down a card, redraw one card or discard (burn) an entire caravan track which removes all the cards. Face cards can be used to ruin or strengthen everyone's caravan tracks since they can be placed both of yours and your opponents tracks. A Jack can be used to discard one your opponents cards including any card added on top, or even one of your own if you don't want to erase an entire track because you're encumbered. So a Jack placed on a card with an 8 and a king is discarded, king included. A king can be used to double any value of any card, this effect stacks (for example, a 4 is placed down and a king is put on top making it an 8. The opponent then puts another king on their opponents card and turns the 8 into a 16) Queens change the suite and reverses the order of the cards, a Queen of Hearts placed on a track that has a 10 of clubs and a 2 of diamonds turns the track from a club suite with a descending track to a heart suite with a ascending track Aces have a value of 1, while they may seem useless they can be synergised by a joker Jokers can be placed on any card and have certain effects depending on what card they are placed on. If placed on an ace, any other non face cards that belongs to the same suite as the ace are removed from everyone's tracks. If placed on a number card 2-10, any OTHER card with the same value is removed from all the tracks. Jokers cannot be placed on face cards that are not aces To actually end the game, each lane needs at least one sold caravan on either tracks to end the game. If only one player sold (their track is above 20 but below 27) on a lane, they win that lane. If both players sold on one lane by the time the game ends, the win will go to which ever player has the higher value that doesn't exceed 26. If a lane has two sold caravans but they are tied, play continues until either one track is encumbered or a lower value than the opposing track For example Not all lanes have a sold caravan, play continues 21 | 21 | 0 0 | 7 | 9 All 3 lanes have a sold caravan, the top player has 3 sold caravans with their third track being more valuable than the bottom players third track. Top player wins 21 | 21 | 25 8 | 17 | 24 Lane 3 is contested, play continues until either player has a better caravan or sabotages the other caravan to encumber them or ruin their value 26 | 26 | 21 9 | 7 | 21 That should be the basics on caravan. Hope that explains it decently enough

​@Sarah12471 The way it makes sense in my mind is that, in a game of caravan, you're really just playing three games of blackjack at once with some altered rules. To win Caravan, you have to win two out of three of the blackjack games. So your basic strategy is going to be letting your opponent overplay their hand trying to win at one of the blackjack games while you balance your cards and beat them in the other two. The actual games of blackjack themselves work like this: You stack cards like blackjack and add their numbers together, but the cards must be stacked in order. So if you put down a 5 and then a 6, your next card has to be higher than a 6. But if you put down a 6 and then a 5, your next card has to be lower than a 5. Unlike in normal blackjack, where you want to reach 21 without going over, this version accepts any number between 21 and 26 as a win. If both players win, the tiebreaker goes to whoever has a higher number, so a 24 beats a 22 for example. Once all three games of blackjack have a valid winner the game ends and whoever won two out of three blackjacks wins the Caravan. There are also cards with bonus effects but you can ignore them to start.

I recently got into the fallout roleplay game from a friend and my first and favorite character is a Vault dweller security chief named “Jackson Davis” the interesting thing about his vault is its experiment was there is little to no food in the vault and it indoctrinated to everyone to do cannibalism other then that Jackson is a highly charismatic and nice but he thinks cannibalism is a normal thing and he is slightly psychopathic and bipolar and he has terrifying presences and how the DM describes him is “a very intensely friendly guy but behind those eyes hes blank and with how friendly he acts he gives off a feeling of unease” and in our up and coming session we are going to my vault

I ended up watching this campaign near it's end, the episode they gained a lot of levels, haveing loved what I saw and understood and now am going back to watch it in it's enteity. Can't wait to see how these charters are now and what they face to get to the place I know.

If I make my own character, it would be a mutated humanoid deathclaw engineer pacifist. Focus is on keeping allies alive and safe. Focuses on medicinal innovation, as well as means of automating or improving methods of delivery to facilitate rapid recovery in combat scenarios. A strong deviation from the experiments he was put under, and his intent of creation. However, he does carry a cricket bat to knock out someone who comes at him. Not fatally however, as the wood has some padding on it to allow for nonlethal attacks. At worst, just a broken nose. At best, stunned and in a state to be capable of reasoning.

great stuff, liking ya system :) a thought about robots and radiation- they can't be effected by it but, they can become irradiated by neutron exposure, effecting those around them over long-term, (check out the 'rule of seven' on the fallout fan wiki under 'Nuclear fallout', might be useful) requiring scrubbing before going into settlements, etc just a thought, might not work for game-balance, and it's all fun and games either way, but, thought i'd share :) check out the 'vault 57' uk LARP sometime if ya fancy :) game on you crazy diamonds x
