This is one of the wittiest and funniest books in the English language!! And it is read so brilliantly by the legend himself, still alive, RIP. Many, many thanks for posting

If you like this, maybe you will also like Neil Gaiman's books 'Norse Mythology' and 'American Gods' (and some of his other books). They do exist as audiobooks too, but not for free

I don't know how the Almighty Algorithm decided this was exactly what I needed today but I deeply appreciate it.

I’m so pleased to have stumbled across this! You, fellow Adams-enjoyer, are doing the gods’ work. (Surely Thor’s at the very least.) It’s amazing that The Algorithm promotes content like this to me, while its conglomo-brother algos are intent on rooting it out for removal, but i shan’t complain. I think that _Teatime_ may actually be my favorite of Adams’ books, though it’s foolish to try and quantify such a thing. It was my introduction to Dirk Gently, and i devoured it in a day, ADHD be damned. Dirk’s standoff with his cleaner is reason enough to praise the book. Finding the audiobook now-in the author’s own mellifluous voice!-allows me to experience its delights again, even though my brain no longer allows me books without a fight. Thanks!

Thanks for the kind comment! Douglas's voice really just can't be beat. It's a darn shame these audiobooks can't be purchased anywhere

Like the big, hot lad in "Jellystone" Park in America, Paddy. Akin to the 'spout' 🐳 of a Whale. Spelt: "Geyser", but pronounced: "Geezer" or "Guyser" in many parts of the World. Weirdly - but Not too surprisingly! - in my hometown of Belfast, "Turn on the geezer" meant pushing the wall-switch to turn On the Hot water tank/immersion heater inside the HW tank! I never heard it used outside of Belfast, but it Didn't come from the US Army soldiers who were stationed in "Norn Iron"(N.I.) during WW2. My Da, who was a typical Workin Class font of All Knowledge, used the phrase, but Didn't know how/why it came about! His theory was it came from those Hot Water/ Hot Steam geysers around the World, which had/have a Regular Time between eruptions, as-if someone was; "throwin On a switch!" to make it work! But when the observers saw it, they wrote home using the Phonetic word: Geezer in place of 'geyser'. That makes sense to me, but I have also heard the word "Jyzser" used, where the 1st syllable "jyzs" rhymes with: "eyes"! 🫡☘️P0D|P0G🍀😉 ..

@ Ah…in America a geezer is an old man. We pronounce geyser guy-zer.
