My sister wants to enjoy this amazing game, but she gets far too angry when it comes to the Lander on the planets due to all her mistakes. I've figured out how it works honestly, and yet I still make mistakes. But the game is far too lovable for all the hate it receives. The music, the visuals, the different encounters, the physics of Space, even the characters. It's all so good and I don't even get frustrated when I mess up. I will now admit. My first proper main game I failed. But so what. I've learned for next time. I know why I failed. I chose the wrong galaxy for my first mission, so I had to choose to kill a character just to diffuse the tension between the Ilitza race and my characters. Blew up the Lander with a failed ejector on a Hell planet next. Then I kinda just thought I'll try and make it to the star system where I should've been the first time, and the last two suffocated and died. And then I just ended up being an emotional wreck, which is why the game is so beautiful to me. I'm glad my sister got me intrigued by the game. And I am very intrigued. I love the challenges you have to deal with too. It is so worth it, especially because I bought it with the 90% off deal, with five hours to spare.

The "Alpha Centauri galaxy"?
@neojournalyst5 жыл бұрын
It seems to be a fictional place in the game. Otherwise, how would you visit other star systems during your long journey home. Why they didn’t just call it the Andromeda Galaxy is a mystery. At the very least the writers are not even clever.

If you're checking this game out, don't bother imo. Great ideas and art are totally ruined by the lander minigame. It's integral to the game but tedious and the controls are complete garbage... just fired up the game after a year+ since I picked it up initially. Nothing is fixed. Save yourself a few bucks and just smash your keyboard down on your index finger for about 5 minutes as hard as you can. Sry Deadalic, huge miss here.
@xrotarebil6 жыл бұрын
Is there a similar space game that is better than this one? I saw this just advertised on GOG, but given the poor reviews I might give it a miss.
@frasermitchell27656 жыл бұрын
@@xrotarebil I can't think of one that I would class as 100% similar to this. It's pretty unique and the story setup and style are kind of in a class of their own, partly why I was so disappointed. Usually, I love Deadalic games. There are plenty of really amazing space games as general alternatives though. Check out FTL or Everspace if you like roguelikes or EvE, GOF2, Rebel Galaxy if you want just really good gameplay but much more depth. One to watch out for is Rebel Galaxy Outlaw coming later this year. My money is still on Freelancer, it's pretty old but just amazing. I'm still looking for something like it if you have a reco, closest I can find is Starpoint Gemini 2.

They found a good solution to Star Control 2's poor landing gather-resources missions. This is what evolution in video gaming is. Yet it was again an small developer who came up with the important improvements. And not one of those triple shame devs. Where you only get overpriced trash with missing content that is sold as DLC! With some bits and parts of this and of other games. You can not only recreate, you can create the perfect Star Control game! Basically a super epic Space Opera that can be played in so many different ways. That it will blow Star Citizen and everything that came prior to that combined, out of the ocean! We have the technology, we have the studios with the money, but we don't have the people with the talent and the brain to even achieve 1% of such a project. This industry is dominated by frauds and shitheads, it disgusts me to the core! The devolution and the poor ways of this industry is worse than cancer!

@neojournalyst5 жыл бұрын
Since Alpha Centauri and Proxima Centauri are the closest stars to our own, how would you gather that you visit other star systems in route to your “long journey home?” Clearly, the Alpha Centauri galaxy in this game is a fictional place in the game’s mythology. In your ridicule of someone else’s education level you have at a minimum exposed your lack of critical listening skills.
