I have owned the 4B ST amplifier and the BP5 preamplifier for nearly 30 years and they still sound great! I agree that service is definitely 5 stars!!! Thank you for building a product that actually lasts!

I thought that was a great interview. Bryston is the best audio company in existence and in the video, James and Gary exhibit a raw credibility exuding with honesty. Since, my Bryston SP3, all my audio components have been by Bryston. Their products are state of the art and their customer service is second to none.

I've had a lot of different audio equipment in the last 25 years, but I always seem to come back to Bryston in the end. Fantastic company with excellent products. Service is second to none. A lot of high-end companies give you a bare minimum warranty and then don't want to know you if there's a problem. As far as Bryston is concerned, they treat everyone the same wether it's a brand new unit that you just purchased,or something that's 30 years old.

It’s definitely on the bucket, I’d rather have this then a corvette. If I had the cash I would buy 2x bridge it too 2x mono block, nothing would touch it, not even mcintosh, mind you there amps are nice, but for the money Bryston is the way too go 😎👍👍

Remember, the most important thing about any warranty is the company needs to be AROUND for twenty years. Many brands have been purchased over time and though they are still on the market, they don't necessarily honor warranties on products made by the "old" company. For example, Wadia sold off all their repair parts for pre-Fine Sounds models, so though the warranty still existed, they had no parts with which to repair anything. Likewise companies like LG often lack display panels to fix TVs still in warranty and can only offer money towards a newer model. Bryston is a class act and has been around forever, but don't be blinded by warranty length alone.

They're used all around the world, and there is plenty real hifi nuts out there who buy their products.... they'll be around. Even if they won't, you'll have the amp till the day you die "unless you don't feed it conditioned power"

@@pala23mj I bought a used Bryston BP-16 around 8 years ago. It sounds great! No onboard DAC or phono preamp. I use a Parks Audio tube phono preamp and an Arcam iRDAC II. Both sound pretty good too. I also use a Bryston Bit 15 to power it all, and it does make a slight difference in clarity. Hope that helps!

The company "tries to destroy their amps before they leave the factory", if they survive they then sell them. What a company. I have a 4bsst. Oddly absent from KZbin when it comes to reviews, perhaps their reputation means it's not needed.

So the 4B and 3B models are not balanced all the way through? I thought Stereophile said the 4BSST (and the Cube series) were non-inverting from input to output, doesn't that mean balanced all the way?

I live in Melbourne Australia and bought a ‘new’ Bryston 4B3 amplifier - bought from a local authorised shop a ‘demo’ unit, based on the tag it is a 2017 manufactured model. I was ecstatic when listening to it. Unfortunately it just failed this Friday @16.00 , after just two weeks of light use, inexplicably! I’ll take it this Monday to the authorised local repairer , but I could still not understand how such unit from such a reputable brand can fail after so little use ? It is under warranty after just few weeks after the puchasing, however now I am wondering how the 20 years warranty works here in Australia , as there is no mention of it in the receipt ? I hope the required parts are available locally (there is a Bryston branch here as I understand)… I must admit I am quite disappointed as I paid quite a lot of money for this amplifier.
@soundstagenetwork2 жыл бұрын
That is unfortunate! However, we never seen Bryston let anyone down in terms of service. In fact, we've had amps repaired by them that are almost 40 years old -- and parts weren't a problem. We are sure that you will be able to get it fixed. If there's a problem, post here.
@jonm75472 жыл бұрын
I dropped the Bryston for repairs at the authorised repairer here in Melbourne yesterday, and I was told that they will not even look at it for the next 2…3 weeks , as they are too busy! Not first good signs. As for Bryston themselves, I sent a message via their customer support page , but no reply yet. I’ll keep you informed how this repair will go.
@jonm75472 жыл бұрын
My Bryston still not back from the local authorised repairer. Latest feedback is that it may take more than 4 more weeks to receive the parts from Canada ! I really could not understand how is something like this even possible from a supposedly reputable company with such good reviews !? Does Bryston know that their products are sold to people outside North America? I thought warranty also involves a quick turnaround…

@@jonm7547 We are going to forward this thread to Bryston. The company is excellent for service, so there is likely a reason. One thing to take into account is the parts-shortage problem plaguing every manufacturer. Maybe that factors in. But we're passing this on and hopefully they can reply here.

@@jonm7547 As promised below, we sent your concern to Bryston by pointing them to this thread. Bryston's CEO, James Tanner, does not have a KZbin account, but gave us this to reply to you online: "Sorry Jon you are having issues, but the parts shortage has really affected our ability to send parts to distributors for repairs etc. I will send your comments to our distributor and ask him to get in touch." Hopefully it'll work out. Bryston's very good for service -- we know through experience.

SN ratio above 95db is irrelevant, human hearing limitations, indistinguishable beyond 95db , same with total harmonic distortion, anything beyond 0.01% human ear cannot detect, same thing with dumping factor anything above 100 waste of money, matter of fact. In Some cases very high demping factor an indication of excessive feedback and it effects negativity to the sound signature of an amplifier. these are all selling gimmicks and bragging rights for manufacturer !!
