The only reason I ever stopped playing Unturned is because the game got harder and harder to run on my computer each month to the point that It eventually wouldn't boot up at all. I live in Eastern Europe so upgrading isn't an option.

@@wallachia4797 For me it was the lack of new content and variety. While mods, pvp, and servers do exist, theres only so much you can do before it gets repetitive. I was hoping 4.0 would add some more content to do and change things up a bit. That's why I stopped playing.

Taken into account that games with indie developers like this will definitely take a very long time for an example being "PROJECT ZOMBOID", "Deltarune" and "Rust" in it's early days. They are people who cares and are passionate about their product like their own child, so if you want a good quality product but with an indie dev title then of course it's going to take long but it's worth the wait.

Man, I'm not sure why, but this video gets me all emotional. I remember the long nights staying up with a group of people I'd never met in real life making the perfect base, and defending it from a raid the day after on my Mom's god awful laptop. I come back to unturned here and there, to check on things and how its going. I remember watching your vids in middle school. Now I'm a senior in High School. Games like this really can change people, and I do wish both you and Nelson the absolute best, in whatever your path has for you ahead.

Unturned is one of those games that I keep around and play every now and then, just came back recently to play Arid and it’s (imo) the second best map in unturned. The wait for 4.0/II never bothered me, I would just keep playing the game that brought me some of the best memories ever. I wish Nelson the best of luck and hope he can develop the game he wants.

This is probably the most high quality, professional, and amazing unturned video (or one of the most ever, for KZbin) I’ve seen. I’ve fallen out of the Unturned community as of late. Me and my girlfriend started making a game that we told ourselves would be out in two years after we started working on it. It has now been three years and with the mix of burnout, improving the quality and working on other small projects to try to get past that burnout I now know it will at least be another few years before we release the game in a state we a both comfortable with. Game development is not easy and in my experience can take a toll on your mental health if you are not careful. I have a lot of respect for Nelson and the fact he puts this much work into his game and constantly supports the community without really asking for any money at all is really inspiring and I wish him the best as he continues to do what makes him happy :)

Its important to remember (And this is often overlooked) that remaking a game takes a long time, sometimes years depending on it. Not to mention this will be on a new engine. Nelson has to learn this new engine, learn a bit more coding that applies to this engine, and then re-create the game based off of the original game. This is why you see games like the Half life remake take some time. If i could tell Nelson anything, it would be: Take it easy, and fine the middle ground. Don't do everything, but don't do nothing. focus on important and vital things, before moving onto side projects.

No matter anything, really hope that it gets all the traction and reaches the playerbase of unturned because from what it seems most people have no idea whats happening with Unturned 2. I am so glad you mentioned how the game has lost vanilla servers almost completely and now the game is nothing but kos. I don't understand why people won't play vanilla and why they need to shoot a fresh spawn or even a guy with a 1911 if they have a maplestrike. Everyone is so sweaty when it come to pvp and it makes me sad to see this game loose players because of the small community of insane players.

I mean , i used to be in the hardcore pvp scene and its just what ppl enjoy. Some enjoyed vanilla some enjoyed modded / clan wars pvp but I've moved to apex since unturned has ruined its in combat movement.

@@Marusii847 Well, it's been like that since launch , people just enjoy the game in different ways. My enjoyment of the game has been ruined however because i feel like the skill gap in aiming and movement has been made segnificantly smaller by the movement update. The only thing that the movement update added is the need to time your jumps and strafes to when you hit the ground which is just MEH, it's not hard to do , not hard to aim at thus adds no depth to the game. Bascially pvp now is so easy with the giant hitboxes + slow predictable movement + guns having no recoil , means that you can be bad at the game and kill anyone which in my opinion shouldn't be a thing. In rust there's almost 0 cheese strats that work vs good players mid-long range (close range u have shootys lol) This is my rambling mostly but TL;DR If i we're to hop on a vanilla server i would not be able to get a 50kdr and do crazy snowballs like usual because now with the movement update the skill gap that was in the movement has been made obselete.

Long-time Unturned fan (got the Gold upgrade in October 2014) who exclusively enjoys the PvE and often plays singleplayer. I honestly had no idea about a lot of this going on, I was unaware that 4.0 was actually going to be a new build and new engine. Upon recently coming back, one of my few complaints about the current version of Unturned was just not being able to remove bullets from magazines and not scrapping magazines, heh. I'm happy to wait for Nelson on whatever he plans to do, part of me hopes 3.0 doesn't disappear when 4.0 releases but another part entirely understands if it does. Thanks for making this video to inform people including myself on the topic! :)

We live in a society where people like Nelson can thrive. He made something that was his passion, and that passion has taken him places he could have never imagined. I bought gold a few years ago now on PEI overlooking the military base. Back when you could loot the Scorp 7 facility for the shadowstalker, back before Washington was not even a thing. I have never looked back and regret that purchase. Unturned is a timeless classic that deserves to go down with titles like Left 4 Dead, and judging from many people talking about Unturned when zombie games are brought up I am not the only one that thinks that. Why yes, I am a survivor of the BETA testing stages. Why yes, I have over 700 hours in the game and those are rookie numbers. I love Unturned for what it is, sometimes we expect more out of Nelson, but we forget that he is one person. Yes, we may have that new map 2 months early but what is the point of getting it early if it means the dev for the game takes such abhorrent punishment. Unturned 4.0 will be done, when it is done. It will be better for it if we wait and let Nelson do what he has done best, work on his passion project.
