Looking good. My main tree is over 20 ft tall and loaded with flowers. Once they get established they can take quite a bit of cold… 26f or so without damage

Mine in San Jose is large a bout 6-7 feet. It has no issues with cold but there isn’t enough heat to mature fruit in one season. So fruit has to overwinter to mature.

Interesting. Thanks for the insight.

My longan trees are getting bigger every year. They take a while to get moving and may needs some protection the first few winter seasons.

My Longan & Lychee is producing fruit in Zone 8b West of Paso Robles Ca. elevation 2000. Waiting for the fruit to get bigger before I do a video on it. Choquette, Lamp Hass, Bacon, Wurtz, Nabal, Lamp Hass, Gwen, Jan Boyce, Queen, Sir Prize, GEM, Reed, Edranal, Carmen, and Don Gillogly is loaded with fruits. My tree is still young. Some of avocados trees the fruit is getting bigger. Lamb Hass, Hass, Fuerte, Bacon, Wurtz, all of those varieties is producing mature fruits on my trees. Feb.25-2023 we had snow that lasted for three days. None of my trees die or burn. Including newly planted avocado trees without protection. I have video to prove it.
