When the top ranks were dominated by Cookiezi, Angelsim, Rafis, etc. WhiteCat was also a 2-digit prior to people suspecting him of cheating and ultimately, getting banned. Almost everyone doubted him because of how insane his plays were and people barely even knew about him. He got banned because of multiaccounting and boosting, but no hard evidence of cheating. After 3 years of getting banned, he got the redemption (hell, revenge fits better) he needed the most. Now people who once doubted him went full 180°.

Especially when you see that several times, WhiteCat would tryhard for several hours some of the 1k pp scores that mrekk set, right after they were set. mrekk took the number 1 spot fair and square, just like WhiteCat did back in 2019 ^^ I saw nobody say “yeah but Vaxei was so bored and let WhiteCat take no1” back in 2019, even though Vaxei hardly played the game at that time. So I don’t see why mrekk’s work would have less value (especially since WhiteCat still pretty much plays everyday).

I think I understand the motivation behind why you didn’t, but I feel like it was some much needed context that was left out. Factually speaking, whitecat did get #1 that fast after his unban, but the current #1 at the time (Vaxei) wasn’t active and didn’t contest him. As for mrekk, similar situation. Although whitecat doesn’t play too much as of late, he is active, but he kinda “let him” take #1 This isn’t to devalue the impressive of these incredible feats, but rather look at the situation from a more objective standpoint.

It is kinda the norm though. In fact its literally almost always when a #1 player stop farming that he gets dethroned (in recent years,cookiezi, mathi and freddie all stopped farming for a little and got surpassed) of course the gap of skill with other top players is smaller with mathi and freddie but it works like that. Hell the last time the pp ranking was interesting imo was fall 2016 when cookiezi rafis and angelsim were all tryharding for #1.

I think mrekk will be able to keep number 1 for a long ass time because whitecat isnt interested in farming, aetrna sets the highest scores but not at the rate mrekk can set a 1k and ryuk can submit plays at the rate of mrekk but not at the same pp count. If anyone is to take number 1 from mrekk it would probably be ryuk but I dont see it happening anytime soon
