Thank you for putting this together for us all. I played Dreamfall many years ago, before Chapters was being developed. I had always intended to play The Longest Journey and [potentially Dreamfall again] move onto Chapters. Despite starting Journey it a couple times...I could never really get going with it. After so many years of Chapters and Longest Journey sitting in my library & putting off playing the latter, I decided to look for a summary and finally get going with Chapters. I'm going to watch your Dreamfall review for a 'reminder'...and go ahead and finally get started with Chapters. Anyway, I know you don't have 'huge' amount of views on your video, but I wanted to really THANK you for taking the time to do it for all of us. Thanks so much for the video. I can’t imagine how much effort it took to make it. You did a great job showing important story moments with sound bites and music from the game. Apart from Chapters (which I haven't played yet) Dreamfall and Dreamfall The Longest Journey are one of my favorite games ever. A modern remake in terms of the graphics would be awesome :D

The fact that this was made in 1999 amazes me! Was the game a big deal back then? I mean, this game had cutscenes.

Overall, the game was a success (but it took some time because they needed to find publishers all around the world). Considering the sales figures and the female protagonist, at that time, it must have been something of a big deal since it drew a lot of female audiences to play the game.

Well, BioShock and The Longest Journey are very different concepts. Yes, there are underwater creatures in The Longest Journey, but they are not as advanced as in BioShock. So, maybe 2K Games got an inspiration from The Longest Journey, but they made a completely different Game with another amazing story. I might do another Game Summary of the BioShock Series, if enough people are interested.

I actually love this about the game. This crazy entangled and quite uncommon story... I feel like Dreamfall Chapters fell a bit short of that (even compared to Dreamfall: TLJ)

'TLJ' has it's flaws. Some of those are due to the limits of the technology restricting story telling. Some are due to the game being episodic. But there are story telling flaws. Cortez's sudden appearance when April is dodging the escaped mutant (which is itself a very random thing to happen) is one. How did he escape? At first I thought is was intended to be a deliberate attempt to place April in danger and have a false, or brainwashed, Cortez appear to manipulate her. The very obvious foreshadowing of who the new guardian would be is another. It's an impressive game that leaves a lasting impression, but it does stumble at times.
