A referee was allegedly bullied into changing his match report and decision of giving a player a straight red card to two yellows which allowed the player play the final. This was what the external pressure resulted in. I see comments here regarding rules are rules and I agree fully. Therefore a rule for a straight red card should in no way have been changed externally. Killoe requested an investigation into these allegations which were not carried out and therefore did not present for the final. They stated that they would present when the investigation was carried out to prove whether these actions by the referee and the connected external persons did or did not take place..The CB then in their wisdom issued them with a fine which they appealed but this could not be heard because of the covid 19 breakout.. Not in a million yrs would I.pay a fine to these shower who unfortunately run our CB...none of them have the good of longford gaa at heart....this is shown In the fiasco that was to be the centre of excellence. Then there was the floodlights that were never erected. Then there was the fiasco of the stand that they cut corners at building among other incidents. People as a whole in longford are sick to the teeth of them....with no integrity whatsoever...hopefully this will all come out later in the week.....and surprise surprise no comment from CB...

Was the player in question playing for killaloe or the opposition? Changing a red to 2 yellows happens all the time btw.

Maybe the GAA should start implementing more positive measures to increase competitiveness of smaller counties instead of handicapping them

why didn't the club just pay the fine in time, they are looking for sympathy when its completely their own fault..

@@nultyjack8219 750 euro, stop with your excuses. The rules are black and white, fines must be paid within the time frame given. The chairman of the club should have known better.

Barry Clarke I assume Killoe were to play this other team in the final. The Gaa have always had their own solutions to problems that arise.

The red put him out of game. 2 yellows obviously made him available...killoe requested that an investigation into what occurred be conducted..the referee allegedly having a change of heart and consciousness also came forward.....in fairness at least he had the integrity to do so but alas the CB dug the heels in......allegedly!.....killoe were always going to play the final once the investigation proved it did or did not happen!

@@barryclarke8101 Thanks for that. Seems a bit over the top to ban the entire club from participating. Of course County Board members all have affiliations to different clubs so a minefield. In the old days a club could raise an objection not sure if that can be done now.
