@@vincentverraest2722 For sure. I have a Deluge with the foot controller so im all set. Does all the things a looper should be able to do if you want the strong feature set. Bonus is that its the Deluge so I can take those loops, chop em up, add drum tracks, arrange it, add synths, all in the box. Looper is like an add on which has a ton more functionality than most standard loopers. Even the EHX's. They all have their duties but you dont want to really spend that much time figuring out a simple looper. Tap, record, tap again, stop record. Got your tempo now, record more.

@RickyTinez3 жыл бұрын
yea? ive been super curious about it!
@MatthewDavisMusic3 жыл бұрын
The Line6 green delay with the looper was my first looper. It has amazing creative possibilities, but there’s no way to get perfectly timed loops because there’s no internal clock. The loop length is based exclusively on when you press the record start and stop. That limitation taught me how to create and use ambient style washes that flow over bar lines and don’t need to be tempo synced. I just got the pigtronix infinity looper and it has really good midi in sync capabilities and the ability to slow and speed up the loop. I’m still learning all that it does.
@samanderson8063 жыл бұрын

I got an Aeros last month for making long, asynchronous loops primarily of my synths, and I've only just started realizing its potential. I'm so glad you're covering it! The first of my synths that I tried the Aeros with is my Lyra-8, and it really tames that wild beast. The Electro-Harmonix EHX 95000 is a solid looper too
@ryanjapan3 жыл бұрын
In fairness to this looper it looks like you missed the main draw and the thing that sets it apart - the "locking of loops" thing that you were getting confused about is the key to having both serial (one plays after the other, on one track) and parallel (multiple tracks concurrently playing) loops going at once, which is the whole innovation. Because the loops don't have to be the same length as one another, this can lead to all kinds of crazy song structures and patterns, and you can jump from section to section live, overdubbing/deleting/muting, and even altering loop volume -- and can allegedly do so with your feet once you learn the device well enough 😅. This is definitely not meant to be just a scratchpad or SP-404 replacement; it's meant to be played like an instrument of its own.

@@largepoodle6036 lol looks like you have also missed the point entirely. This is like having an Octatrack and being mad that it's not a KeyStep because you only tried sequencing something with it. @DoffThyFace3 жыл бұрын
@@ryanjapan I totally get the value behind how locked sections work, but it irks me that you can't *unlock* them and that locked tracks have to be sequential to one another. As a EHX 95000 user for the last three years, it has to be the centre of the studio timing as it will send but not receive MIDI Clock. For this reason I use it separately as an incredible acoustic guitar looper with an H9 into 2x Roland Ac33 amps. I record guitar loops in Ableton, perfect the audio using warp and send it to the 95000 for precision loops and live performance.

just got my aeros loop a few weaks ago. it's amazing that the workflow is very fluent with only four footswitch. I love this looper but it's hard for me to say it's more powerful than a boss looper. With a big color screen, the settings menu is still a mess and some little problem limit its possiblity. I really hope it can have some submenu to make it clearly organized And Like boss rc300 it also has more than one output. But in boss rc300, you can set the output ports and input ports for each tracks and even for the metronome and drummaschine individually. in aeros loop, i can only set the output for metronome and the audiorotate for all the tracks but not each of them. And another thing that makes me uncomfortable is i can't turn off / turn on the metronome in song page. I have to save my song, go to setting page, turn off or turn on and go back. Now I send metronome to audio out and plug into a mixer to control the volume and turn on/turn off. These are really small small things, but for the people who sometimes get nervous without metronome it is really important. A great thing is since it's realease, it had lots of firmware updates ( i really like the lock mode in recent updates). It is more flexible than any looper in market and the outlook has a sense of science and technology. Hope it can get better in the future.

Not a DAW-less approach but I strongly recommend using the built in Ableton Looper with a Nektar Pacer. Initially quite complicated to set up & get your head around programming it but once you do & see how much power you have at your feet you’ll be very pleasantly surprised. Also since you’re using a DAW you have so many more options to play around with recorded loops & in my opinion is a more musical & less fiddly workflow. Plus it’s only around $220 / €220
