I'm a part of 2 showchoirs (same school different groups ), and we do this every year mainly whenever we have a big event. for example, during our session, we went to Chicago, and when we were at the bean, we sang this under it. I'm personally not religious at all, but I'd be lying to say that singing this wasn't one of my favorite memories from being in the showchoirs.
