8:05 (Resolution of Misty Mountains Response with Iron Shackles on top of your deck): My logical (but not necessarily how it would say in the rules!) take on this is that the Iron Shackles card is not part of "your deck", it's part of the Encounter deck that has been placed on top of your deck. That means since the Misty Mountains Response says "of their deck" you search (which isn't a draw) the five cards below the IS card. However, since you haven't drawn a card yet, the IS card remains on top of your deck, because you have to "draw a card" to get rid of the IS card.

When you’re commiting to the quest you don’t need to discard right away from Eowyn, after revealing the card from the encounter you have an action window when you can activate her ability, that way you might be unnecessarily discarding cards

Thought I already left a comment but I'll try again. This is one of the hardest quests in the game, especially if playing True Solo and especially if playing with a small card pool. That said, the Revised Core Set campaign adds some cards to try and make it easier. Should one of your heroes have the Valor attachment from defeating the troll in the previous scenario? Should one of your heroes have the Anointed by Fate attachment for this quest? That card was specifically added to make one of your heroes being a prisoner less punishing. There's a few times where you discard the objectives to shadow effects etc - they're attached to your heroes but they're not "attachments". Also gameplay wise - there's a lot of action windows in the round structure but the game doesn't do a good job of teaching them to new players. The most important one is what I call the "Golden Action Window". I wrote a guide on it. Here's an extract: "This is the one that occurs after the Staging Step of the Quest Phase (i.e reveal 1 encounter card per player) but crucially before you move onto the Quest Resolution step. It's during this window that you know exactly how much threat is in the staging area and exactly how much willpower you have committed to the quest before the quest gets resolved - and it's the perfect time to adjust your willpower to manage the quest in the way you want to." So for example, there's no need to use Eowyn's ability preemptively - you only need to discard a card if it will help.

You forgot to put Appointed by Fate into play during setup. Pretty hard to win this scenario solo without it.

Words cannot describe how much I hate this scenario

This apparently the HARDEST encounter of the whole series! But especially for solo! Good try tho Tom! Even with the campaign it’s soooo hard starting with heroes out of play don’t u think?

Totally agree with this, it’s so hard solo. I finally got a win with the campaign setup, but it took a while.

This scenario does not work properly with true solo 😞 It is also very hard for 2+ players, but for true solo it is insanely hard
