It's a good thing they didn't keep Aragorn's first horse. The trilogy would have had a much different ending.

It still absolutely blows me away how much effort, love, determination, and true kiwi spirit went into making these amazing films. Really makes me sad that modern corporate conglomerates seem to just throw together films and shows nowadays not really caring about the underlying story or details and would rather push an agenda like rings of power.

I find it incredible that people like you can’t admire an amazing piece of art without tearing down another one. I’m 100% sure rings of power has a dedicated crew that’s been working their asses off for years for the project, but you rather diss them for absolutely no reason. Not a fan of amazon either, but there’s no reason to dismiss the people who are dedicating so much effort on the project

@@sarairuiz2369 Ah yes and the crew of the Jackson films only worked their asses off for years out of the goodness of their hearts- they did it for free! I mean seriously, I love those films with all my heart and so far (still VERY early) I really like the new show. Also, how exactly do you think they’re “pissing on Tolkien’s works”? ALL the actual knowledgeable people in the lore I’ve come across agree that while the show is taking some creative liberties (as did the Jackson films- Aragorn not wanting to be king, replacing Glorfindel with Arwen, Gimli pure comic relief, I can go on…) they are being faithful to Tolkien and even including tons of awesome easter eggs for those who know the lore (dragon helm of Dor-lomin, Luthien, etc.) I can go on about the interviews with the show-runners where it’s abundantly clear they love Tolkien and have huge respect and admiration for his work, they’ve even quoted obscure letters from the professor. But I know you’ve made up your mind a long time ago that the show is trash and doesn’t care about or respect Tolkien, so I won’t go further. Hope you can see things more clearly going forward. @@agab12 I dunno who the actual knowledgeable people you're talking to are, but the ones I've talked to are pretty disappointed in the new show. I don't think you can just automatically dump on people who don't like it - there are some fair criticisms out there by people who are very familiar with the lore, and who have made a good faith effort to enjoy the narrative but just haven't been able to deal with the flaws. The show runners might love Tolkien tons, but that doesn't mean they've been successful so far.

@@cleeks5549 Saying that the people creating the show are “pissing on Tolkien’s grave” is not fair criticism. Not everyone needs to like it - I have some critiques myself, although they’re pretty minor and haven’t come close to ruining the experience. But (most of) these people aren’t providing genuine critiques, they’re just spewing pure hate and saying things like the guy I responded to, that the people making the show are only doing so out of greed. It’s absurd. Yes, like all entertainment, this is a business and you can get your ass that Amazon wants to make this profitable. But people need to separate that from the showrunners, cast, crew who have been and will continue to work their asses off to make the best show possible while respecting the lore. As far as people knowledgeable who like the show, they’re all cheaply being called shills by this crowd. But the Tolkien professor Cory Olsen is one, Nerd of the Rings is another who critiques it without bashing it completely, and there’s plenty more.
